You're right. If there are two things they never close in L.A., it's their freeways, and their beaches.
Likely antifa has infiltrated every government office going.
One of my clients runs a chain of autobody shops... Just sayin'...
Source please. The MSM have been quiet as a mouse and the police have not made any statements that I have seen.
The driver had the right of way, but he shouldn’t be awarded more than car repairs to be paid by the families of the wayward women...and 2 points.
If he entered the freeway from an off ramp, that would mean was driving on the wrong side of the freeway, which I don't believe he was.
Nice Grateful Dead reference.
ironic that its the cops and firemen helping them...ironic.....
From: 1 of 2 protesters hit by car on closed Seattle highway dies (AP source) And, Dawit Kelete of Seattle drove his car onto a closed freeway critically injuring two women
Officials were trying to determine the motive as well as where he got onto the interstate, which had been closed by the state patrol for more than an hour before the protesters were hit. Mead said they suspect Kelete drove the wrong way on a ramp. Trooper Rick Johnson said the driver went through a barrier that closed the freeway.
it was not intentional...
you have roads and people expect to drive on them...
they don't expect to run into parked cars on the highway and then have to swerve to miss them and hit some people behind the vehicle....
I did note that FROM NOW ON the cops won't let the rioters park on the road in the middle of the night and block traffic and that pedestrians on the road will be arrested.....
too little too late you idiots....
The LSM and po-lice has been quiet because the driver's name is Dawit Kelete and is someone who graduated from WSU with a degree in Social Services.
There are no booking photos online, but his selfies are all over social media.
`Nuff said.
It has not been a continual blockage, and has been mostly at night when traffic was much lighter. Even Seattle libtards would not tolerate a rush hour blockage of I-5. The Washington State Patrol has been enabling this madness by blocking on ramps. Im not sure what they have been doing with through traffic, as I-5 is the primary north south interstate on the west coast, so there would still be plenty of truck traffic regardless of the time. I cant imagine truckers would be too happy about being held up by a bunch of leftist pukes impeding commercial traffic for a dubious cause.
One of the women who was hit has now died, so the WSP has now belatedly announce that they would now longer allow these blockages.
I wasn’t trusting the reports that he “drove through official barricades.” I found a report from an official source that the protestors got on the interstate, and shortly after the police and WSDOT shut down the access ramps and the interstate.
The drive went the wrong way on an exit ramp to get onto the interstate, and then pulled a u-turn to go the way he wanted to.
Unconfirmed reports say the driver was involved in earlier protests at CHAZ, the Mayor’s house, etc.
Try to keep up.
The Washington State Highway Patrol had closed that section of the highway by blocking the on-ramps.
The highway had been closed for an hour when the hit and run accident occurred.
Dawit Kelete drove up an off-ramp, went through barriers, then executed a right-hand U-turn to enter a closed highway.
He then proceeded at high speed, swerved around the parked vehicles and hit the two women.
you have roads and people expect to drive on them...
Do you drive around roadblocks set up by your state's highway patrol? No matter what?
it is not reasonable for major highways to be shutdown in the middle of the night of a major holiday so some terrorists can stop traffic and cause commotion....no driver expects that...no driver......
Sort of like when an airplane crashes or other disasters.
Cascading events.
Stupid people dancing on the interstate might survive for 19 days or whatever it has been.
But then another stupid person gets onto the interstate.
I once drove around an interstate barricade, but thankfully nothing terrible happened. It was for a snowstorm in Wyoming. I had a 4x4 truck and thought “I can get through this!”
I went down the entrance ramp. 200 feet on the snow covered interstate I thought “this is stupid”! Took the exit ramp. Slept the night in my truck in a motel parking lot till the storm passed.
I was young and stupid, but luckily not that stupid. At least that time!
You avoided my question.
Regardless, exactly where does the concept of 'reckless disregard for human life' enter your universe?
Ok The freeway was barricaded by the police about one hour before the crash. My question is; was the barricade manned by police vehicles or uniformed police? If not then the fault lies with the police. And, common sense would say that there should have been police vehicles positioned prior to the protest area, with flashing lights on as a warning. Finally, there should never have been private vehicle parked, sideways, on the freeway. This alone is a threat for emergency vehicles that may need to use that portion of the road for responding to accidents and fires.
Didn’t stick the landing, that’s going to cost them points.
Okay, Mr. US Navy Cop Retired, do you always drive around un-manned barricades onto the highway?
No matter what?
Yes, or no?
