The response from Goodyear was not a very clear denial was it?

“You CANNOT show support for Trump there, or even all lives.”

Not even that so much as the encouragement of their sanctioned version of “social justice” political promotion. A workplace should be where you come, do your job and then go home - not where you politic, left or right.

Good to know. I’m 70,000 miles on some OEM Hankooks, and could use some new rubber this month. Probably will go Michelin now.

Goodyear’s Facebook has a statement
saying “Yesterday, Goodyear became the focus of a conversation that created some misconceptions about our policies and our company. Goodyear has always wholeheartedly supported both equality and law enforcement and will continue to do so.”

But read the whole statement then check
out the responses from now-former
customers.

Cooper is the only other American tire company. Lots of companies make tires in the US. Nokian, a Finnish company, just opened a state-of-the-art factory in east Tennessee, for example.

Hankook's tread life isn't that great but boy are they QUIET and the CORNER HANDLING is astounding.

Rotated my OEM Hankooks every 5000 miles and they still have 4/32 thread depth remaining after 70,000 miles.

I had heard they're not making them anymore?

Wrong - they didn’t deny anything.

Their “clarification” maintains that the policy is exactly as we saw on the slide.

BLM attire: Just fine.
Pro LBGTQX: Just fine.

Blue Lives Matters: banned
MAGA: banned

Were you in too big of a hurry to read the link you posted??

Wow, that’s exactly the tire I’ve decided to replace the Continentals on my 4x4 F-250 with. Very high customer satisfaction rating. Was tempted to go with Goodyear Kevlar tires after seeing the $100 rebate they’re now offering, but this bit of news settles it.

We’re in eastern TN. Will go down the road and see what Matlock Tires has that will work for us.

Goodyear is for people who can't afford good tires.

I'm not going to put Toyo tires on a 1994 Buick Roadmaster. It's just wrong.

Sometimes selection is limited for those who don't want to put modern style low profile tires and clown car wheels on their older vehicles.

Agreed

I worked in a department of an investment bank where I was the only conservative out of 40 people, besides one of the 2 bosses, thank God.

That was 20 years ago and oddly enough we’d have FIERCE debates while working and then go out for drinks like they never happened.

I considered some of them friends.

But 20 years ago may well have been a million in terms of the evolution of liberalism.

When I got quite ill, many of them gave me generous financial gifts.

Today, they would send me hate cards.

And NO, I cannot explain how pro abortion people treated me with such kindness.

I have no answers.

They knew my stance.

I think for many, it wasn’t one of their top priorities...which doesn’t make it any less horrible.

who knows how human minds work?

My BMW was assembled in Dingolfing, Germany, but that doesn’t mean all of it’s components are from the same area. Some components like the engine and transmission are German made, but the rest of the components come mostly from China with a few coming from other areas. I know the leather comes from South America, for example. Same thing with other car brands; China dominates the manufacturing of most components these days which is partially why even German cars don’t last as long as they used to.

A another company which has supported BLM. We've cut way back on the amount of business we do with them now:

Thanks for the heads up. I buy US made tires and now I’m going to avoid any woke manufacturers. I generally prefer Cooper Tires, although not all of theirs are made in the USA either. Lord I pray they don’t become woke too.

Just 20% of all tires sold in America and made here and manufacturers don’t always go out of their way to provide manufacturing data. Buying American takes leg work and dedication. For example, we need a 20” E-rated tire for my wife’s Expedition that is made in the USA. There is only one on the market...the Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT.

KO2s are AWESOME. I have them on my truck and love them.

They're about as aggressive as you can get without being a mud tire, road capable, and mountain peak rated. The armored sidewall is pretty good too. Just this past weekend, I backed up along side a rock out in the woods = no issues.

"To enable a work environment free of those, we ask that associates refrain from workplace expressions in support of political campaigning for any candidate or political party, as well as similar forms of advocacy that fall outside the scope of racial justice and equity issues."

As I read it, they are confirming that BLM wear is OK. The police thing would be considered "advocacy that falls outside of racial justice and equity issues." Somebody correct me. Perhaps my reading comprehension is not as good as it used to be.
