Lots of good covers to check out in their Youtube channel.
rofl!
I knew who posted that before I looked :)
Sometimes, the talent does lie within the genes.
Dionne Warwick was Whitney Houston’s Aunt.
Opera singer Leontyne Price is a member of the Drinkard Family, other cousins related to Dionne’s mother.
Been a busy week! Have a lot of stuff going on..
I remember this. BEST EVER.
Notice all the flags in the crowd.
Was at an Indy 500 when Seven Tyler from Aerosmith sang the Banner, and instead of singing “the home of the brave”, he sang “ the home of the Indy 500”.
My section booed loudly.
I listened to her a couple of times and she is VERY GOOD.
Busy is good.
I need to make mine more busy!
And she was a beauty too before the fall.
Shame.
And I saw in a Whitney Houston documentary that she only practiced it once. Once. Then said “I’ve got it.”
Her voice was just amazing. So sad we lost her so young. So many artists die young! Bright flames burn out quickly.
Still my favorite rendition.
What an amazing voice.
She absolutely nailed it.
Agree.
So hot and vast talent and drugs took it all. In the movie Body Guard she was great.
Points off for the lip synching (NFL wanted the anthem mixed “studio perfect”), that takes all the pressure off.
Flame suit on but that is what happened.
“Unfortunately, Whitney suffered from the disease of addiction.”
Sure she did and never got the help that she needed.
There were many gifted artists including actors that were addicts and died because of that addiction. It makes me wonder if being an addict drove them to be the great talents that they were.
Bump the metal!
iirc all the proceeds went to vets or some other charity. Can’t remember which..point being she didn’t take a dime for it. She re-recorded it and that also went to a charity. Very sad...wrong choices were made and it cost her.
Here in my hometown there was a guy who had a radio sports show in midday, a guy who had moved here from New York.
He retired about a year ago, but until he did he always signed off with Whitney.
It never got old.
I never cared for Houston’s embellishments with the melody of The Star-Spangled Banner.
