Pence’s political career should be and is over.

"It should. I cannot understand just what it is that makes these people turn against President Trump."

It's called "putting themselves first."

You have to be monumentally ignorant and/or monumentally stupid to believe Pence had any power, authority, or role to do what Navarro is saying here.

Once again - the Vice President of the United States has zero - zero - power to do this. His role is to open and have counted the Electors that are presented. Not that he may do it, not that he can do it - but he SHALL do it. He presides over that meeting. If objections or motions are raised, he can rule according to parliamentary procedures and the rules of Congress...nothing more. And any ruling he issues would be subject to appeal and vote.

So nutcases come up with fictional powers and roles, and scenarios that don’t exist anywhere in the Constitution or law to claim Pence acted as a “traitor” when presiding over the counting of the Electors. Stupid nonsense.

Is the Constitution now a “living” document to us on the right as well - it can be made to mean whatever we want it to mean, regardless of what it says?

This is beyond embarrassing. It is flat out stupid and ignorant to keep peddling this nonsense.

Navarro needs to grow up. The fact he would spew such nonsense makes it quite troubling he was an adviser to the President.

He couldn’t “try” anything. He has no power to do that. There were no competing Electors to rule on. The only thing he could do was preside over them being opened and counted. That was and is the only role the Vice President has. If there was an irregularity in the process, he rules per the parliamentary procedure / rules of Congress, and that’s it...and any such rulings are subject being appealed and overturned by vote.

Did you miss the part about Barr putting aside all of President Trump's EO’s and only working on Joe Biden's? President Trump could have pounded out orders to every branch of government but when the people tasked with enforcing such orders refuse to do what they're mandated to, what could President Trump do?

Mr. Pence is toast as a politician. I would never vote for him again as a politician.

Peter Navarro always seemed like a competent straight shooter in the Trump administration, but I think he’s out to lunch on this one. As the presiding official over a joint session of Congress the VP has no authority other than to maintain order and to cast a tie-breaking vote in the Senate.

Under the Electoral Count Act of 1887, any formal objections to electoral votes in that joint session would have to be recognized through a vote in both houses of Congress. The VP has no authority to contravene a vote in Congress on any of these matters.

Once again you have your kneepads on for Mike Pence. I’ve explained to you many times how Pence did not have to betray Trump. How he did not have to stab him in the back. But none of that matters to you as approve of what Mike Pence did. Pathetic.

There were no “double electors.” No state submitted more than one set of electors.

But if they had, he would have ruled, and his ruling would be subject to vote. He has no other role.

Ignorance and stupidity are still ignorance and stupidity - no matter how many times you want to repeat them. You don’t have the first clue what you are talking about - at this point your ignorance is willful.

Grow up.

It’s not so much Donald Trump. I think this fearful hysteria and these endless attacks would have befallen ANY private citizen who became President. “Official Washington” and its media co-conspirators just can’t have a patriotic, people-first private citizen in the Oval Office digging into what they’ve been up to over the past 50 years or more. Their paranoia has been obvious right from the start.

It’s comical — and pathetic — to see how delusional some Freepers are.

As if anyone one this website would have recognized the authority of VP Biden to rule in January 2017 that the electoral votes of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin were null and void ... and therefore Hillary Clinton was the 45th President of the United States.

Trump’s EOs we’re going to be null and void within days. And in some cases an EO requires a public review period (30 or 45 days, for example) before it can be implemented. Implementing an EO in January 2021 before the inauguration was nothing more than political theater.

I'll refer to him as the "Race Banon lookalike POS! "

I'll never watch Jonny Quest the same way again! @sshole!

Your post is replete with blathering BeeEss attempting to exonerate and excuse every sort of malfeasance, misfeasance, criminal cowardice and outright knavery perpetrated by Pence, the GOPee congressmen and senators, and just about anyone you can name as somehow unable, incapable, and without any ability to ever do the right things under any circumstances. I hope readers here see your horsedung for the balderdash it is.

I should’ve known you’d come along with wildcat to kiss ass for Pence. I’ve told you both that Pence did not have to accept the responsibility assigned to him by the constitution. He could’ve declined it and passed the role over to Patrick Leahy. Nobody forced him to kick Trump in the butt. But he WANTED to. He wanted to stab Trump in the back and accept those fraudulent electors.

And you two are glad he did.
