I think your post demonstrates you did the time honored FReeper thing: commenting before reading the article. Done that myself a time or two.

The article is most rational, fact-based piece I’ve read on this incident.

Asking questions is expected—to seek knowledge, to exchange points of view. To me, Chainmail is referring to those that state unequivocally that some posters feel they KNOW what happened and any deviation of “their” “truth,” must be insulted and not treated like they have an honest difference of opinion. And I agree with Chainmail, to me their minds are apparently closed and attack those that think otherwise. . .kind of like muslims. . .insult (kill) those that don’t accept their truth.

(As an aside, after 35-yrs of military and government service, I assure you based on my experience the government leaks like a rusty bucket. Agendas abound, so if there was an attempted cover-up, someone would leak, someone that supports ANTIFA or other violent leftists, basically, the democrat party.)

Besides, good luck trying to keep “The Squad” quiet. Ain’t going to happen.

From what I could see, the crowd was pretty much worked up and very noisy and chaotic. I suspect most did not realize what happened when it happened.

Takes time for those that are not experienced in death, violent or otherwise, to process what just happened.

That given, we are not raving, nor inexperienced, some here that have spoken on this matter are trauma nurses and Surgeons, EMT, Police, Military and Civilians.

Over 100 people have Peer reviewed and commented on the Video, and by doing so it has been circulated globally, just by seeing it talked about on here.

What are we to do, if we find issue with a narrative? Be silent, or Review and comment on what we find for others to review and comment upon , Peer Review is not One persons concrete statement.

We honestly do not wish you ill will, and we converse in a civil fashion, and expect the same. Should an opinion not be what you deem acceptable then that is your right as it is ours to hold same.

I am familer with that. Spoke with Reed about this.

Simply put, Reed was kind of “out there,” meaning he was experiencing old man mental loss and was susceptible to conspiracies at the time. Sad, really liked the guy.

Without going into another round of back-and-forth, the aircraft was well above engagement altitude, there was no NOTAM (which is a must do when live firing), and the supposed missile launch was no-where near a special use airspace where such firings take place. No MANPAD is capable of such a distance/altitude. Over 600 witnesses were interviewed and all were pretty much the same.

As an experienced and certified mishap investigator, witnesses are unreliable so you take a broad look at the facts and witness statements (you listen to the one-off but with skepticism) and make judgements from there. No Navy ships close to the flight (not even under the aircraft), only small boats and those boats could never carry a missile that could reach that high and range.

I read the public mishap reports and the accident reports (if you don’t know the difference you will not appreciate the mishap report and its findings).

Anyway, squash if they talk, hah (not at you), is not a threat that works. We knew about the F-117 before it was released, we knew about all those “UFO” videos before they were released, we knew about every aspect of so many other different incidents. On a ship, how many hundreds of 18-yr old seamen are onboard and let me say with all honesty, they will talk. Heck, threatening a Chief Petty Officer is a laughable allegation (again, not at you). The mere threat if they talk is enough to talk, and media would roll in and destroy. . .believe me, the media are dumb as rocks but they know a sensational headline sells. And besides, of the hundred and hundreds that were near or close to the incident, how are all these diverse (in the truest sense of the word) to be threatened to keep to a unified script? And on short notice. Can’t be done. . .and hundred and hundreds would be driven by a sense of right and wrong and patriotism to talk, even those that are American-haters (dems) would talk and be eager to do so.

Anyway, I digress.
