If the owner of that car had a gun stuck in their face and feared for their life the proper response would have been to utilize their 2A authorized personal weapon in dispensing enough force to neutralize the threat. That includes all force thought necessary by that driver at that point in time up to and including deadly force.

I’m reminded long ago there was a similar test done by a news crew, I think. They left an unattended car with the hood up in the city. As one would expect, within short order the car was stripped.
They took a similar car and parked it out in the country unattended with the hood up. The only thing that happened is someone came along and put the hood down, then left.
