Wow...they cancel Fourth of July because of COVID risks but do not cancel other events, Why? Are they saying they know which events spread COVID and which don't....I could say more but Evanston is a liberal town (used to be nice) and most of what they do makes no sense

On my thread today another poster mentioned Lake Oswego, OR doing the same thing for “Juneteenth”.

Ok…well…perhaps it’s a risk because thousands of people will be there.
Only a few hundred at best for this other garbage.

What a hoot. Everyone knows how much blacks folks love the homo class. Should be an interesting parade.

My sister lives there an it is a very hip upper class lib gentry place. It used to be fairly Republican albeit moderate with people like John Porter representing it. It seems the more you lower taxes on these people the more left they become. I think lowering taxes on wealthy people who just become lefties or rinos was the biggest mistake we ever made. And to think I supported it. I think the remedy to socialism is socialism and making sure these people pay lots of taxes the taxes that they frankly deserve.

The mayor of Houston cancelled last year’s 4th of July celebration due to covid, but participated in a George Floyd protest. LOTS of people crowded together.
This year, he has again cancelled in person 4th of July celebrations, but the Juneteenth celebrations are going to go on as normal. He is a loyal democrat.

Our fair city had one of the best 4th of July fireworks displays in the area for several years. It was canceled a decade or so ago. It cost too much to put on anymore. Not for the fireworks but for the overtime for the necessary police presence from six neighboring departments needed to keep the bands of marauding ferals at bay.
On the other hand, last year was non-stop fireworks for at leas twelve hours provided by citizen armatures. Look for of the same this year. The Fourth will NOT but canceled !

Just wait. The United States Senate will vote 100% to eliminate the following holidays: Memorial Day. Independence Day. Veteran’s Day. Thanksgiving. Christmas.
Look for them to declare Cinco de Mayo, May Day, Marx’s Birthday, Mao Tze Tong’s Birthday and End of Constitution Day (6 January) as replacements.
We cannot lose any paid “holidays” for Fe(de)ral “employees”, you know.

No, they’re canceling July 4th and celebrating the others because the Left is currently winning the war for this nation.
To: blueyon
Could not see that one coming.
I figured it was only a matter of time after they locked us down and started inventing new holidays that they would start eliminating the old ones.
They are trying to remove everything that identifies us as a nation and gives us cultural idenity.
