Democrats spent it long ago

My CPA friend had filed electronically and the IRS demanded it on paper so we sent paper. No 3rd stimulus either.
Going on 2 months now
Been trying to hit that 0 mark for years. Got within $500 for 2020. But ... they tossed in $4k to cover my lack of those darn stimulus checks that I never received due to having to file with a tax ID instead of SS number. Someone filed using my wife's SS a few years ago, so now we're stuck using tax ID.
Tax year 2021 goal is as close to 0 as I can get.
“Nope, my refund is still “being processed.” Has been since April 4th.”
March 1st, still being processed. Bet if I owed the 12 cents though they would certainly have found a way to process it befor now.
We got ours within three weeks of filing. Usually don’t get refunds, but because IRA RMD was cancelled last year, we had too much withheld.
My accountant efiled in March and it was in the bank in a week or two.
When they start arresting people without due-process is when it will get REALLY interesting.

Yes, if its more than 45 days you receive interest.

What is this “tax refund” thing you are speaking of?
Thanks. Geeze, why pay out interest if you have to turn around and report it.
Maybe the answer is file as exempt and pay the damn taxes at the end of the year. Quit letting this irresponsible, out of control govt withhold your taxes in the first place.
Problem solved, and you get to really feel how much taxes are damaging you and your life.
Quarterly estimated taxes.
Probably not unless you are paid in December each year. (Sorry.) My advice is do not do that. Calculate and pay your quarterly taxes.

“When a Penalty Is Applied
In some cases, you may owe a penalty when you file your
return. The penalty is imposed on each underpayment for
the number of days it remains unpaid. A penalty may be
applied if you didn’t pay enough estimated tax for the year
or you didn’t make the payments on time or in the required
amount. A penalty may apply even if you have an
overpayment on your tax return”
I have a restaurant separate from mine and my wife’s high paying day jobs. Because of COVID and California lockdowns, we showed a huge company loss, so filed for our $37,315 return in March. Still waiting.
For those that are still waiting for a refund, I found this IRS site. I set up an account which took about 5 to 10 minutes and from there I was able to get a transcript of my recent return and the dates that things have happened and also future dates as to when the refund will be released. The link is rather long, but it will take you straight to the sign in page. After months of inquiring with the IRS’s useless “Where’s my refund” app, I was finally able to get some answers here.
