I’m sure they will find some other radicalized communist to take his place unless the people of VT smarten up and elect an America First senator.

Another poster boy for TERM LIMITS!!!

Short of the states calling for a Constitutional Convention, there is no realistic path for getting term limits. An amendment imposing term limits would have to be voted on by 2/3rds of each house of Congress before it could go to the states. There is no way they’re going to vote to limit their time at the trough.

It is a pity George Aiken didn’t stick around for one more term.

Vermont has liberal Republican governor Philip Scott. Any chance Leahy could be replaced by Scott or any other Republican next year? Even the most liberal Republicans in the Senate (Collins, Murkowski, Romney) have joined Mitch in opposition to Build Back Badder. Even a RINO would be better than socialists like Sanders and Leahy.

This is not good news. Vermont will just elect some younger and more energetic liberal.

In what reality is the replacement for Lehey not worse? The VT replacement will be more closely aligned with the squad.

True, but even if we can't replace him with a Conservative or a Repub, a new fresh-faced idiot is going to be much less effective and entrenched in everything that this guy who's been around for so long. Look at Ocasio-Cortes, what can she actually do? Yell, scream, squeeze her boobies for the camera, but in terms of actually being effective within the system, she's not very useful at all without Pelosi aiming her.
