There still are places like that, but they are slowly disappearing.

Ah. Geographically.

There’d need to be ALOT of dead voting to overcome 90% of the population with their wits about them.

But thats true of most states, unfortunately.
Missoula is to Montana as Austin is to Texas, or Madison to Wisconsin. Centers of corruption surrounded by seas of half normal people.

When are you guys getting rid of Jon Testes?

That dweeb has rigged his way in too many times. [Yes, there is rigging in Montana]

You need to put the boots to the cheaters in Flathead, Gallatin and Missoula.

Uh, I despise that dolt.
Middle of government actively killing its people and mr. “farmboy” comes out with a “HUGE GREAT NEWS” message that he’s brought home the pork with the latest spending bill he helped push thru. So 90’s. So pathetic.

He’s about as much of a hack as Sen Duffy and his puffy wife.

I would care if I believed our election process wasn’t defunct. There are no more elections. Even if you get a constitutional person elected they’re going to be blackmailed or bribed into submission or beaten to a pulp with no backup. There is only one ‘box’ left, it ain’t the ballot box, but critical mass will only come when a certain number of people have more to gain, than to lose, in RWII, imo.

Can’t disagree. Before that it was Michele Bachmann, whom I supported and was acquainted with.

There is no traction and things can’t improve until society changes.

Yes, they nick you when you sell/buy. Varies by location. Called “transfer tax”.
................... ..

In most real estate sales in Chicago, a transfer tax or stamp is paid to three different government bodies: the City of Chicago, Cook County and the State of Illinois.

How much are transfer stamps in Chicago?
How much is Cook County real estate transfer tax?
Who pays for the transfer tax?

CITY OF CHICAGO TRANSFER TAX
The city of Chicago Transfer Tax (aka: transfer stamps) is split between the seller and buyer, but not equally. The tax applies to almost every real estate sale in the city. There are very few exceptions (non-profits, etc). The buyer’s portion of the tax is called the “City Portion” and the seller’s portion is begrudgingly referred to as the “CTA portion”. Below is a table table that breaks down the seller and buyer portions. skip to table

COOK COUNTY TRANSFER TAX
Chicago is in Cook County and Cook County also has it’s own tax that applies to the majority of real estate sales. Thankfully this tax is much less than the Chicago transfer and it only applies to sellers. skip to table

ILLINOIS PROPERTY TRANSFER TAX
Everyone has their hand out… Like the Cook County transfer tax, the state of Illinois property transfer tax also only applies to sellers. Let’s start with the bad news – It’s twice as much as the Cook County transfer tax. On the other hand (good news) – It’s one third the amount of Chicago Transfer stamps.

Transfer Taxes (stamps)
State of Illinois Transfer Tax:
Seller $1.00 per $1,000
Cook County Transfer Tax:
Seller $0.50 per $1,000
City of Chicago Transfer Tax:
Seller 3.00 per $1,000
Buyer $7.50 per $1,000
TOTAL*:
SELLER $4.50 per $1,000
BUYER $7.50 per $1,000
