Ya, I just went and watched a bunch of old commercials, its the writing/acting. I put on my most sensitive feelers and exposed every nerve I could think of.
Some arent as bad as others, the Humpty Dumpty one wasnt too bad but I suppose there were probably a people that were offended because by displaying an egg they were supporting the ovulation slavery of their avian sisterhood.
The Boston Tea Party one was well shot and had good sets (for a commercial), yet somehow came off as kind of offensive to me (and maybe a couple of visiting Brits who saw it). It was supposed to be funny but came off as irreverent in a not humorous way as though the Revolution was about trivial issues due to the poor writing.
The dancing bear one couldnt have been too bad as there wasnt much to it. Then again there were probably those that felt the lightly clad girl and a bear was some sort of pedophilia symbology or that they supported unfair stereotypes of weak women.
These days someone is always offended by something but they could cut down on spurious accusations by improving the writing/acting. Many of these seem almost like they were poorly adlibbed or they only saw the script for about a minute and a half then shot on first take.
I have been using H&R Block and it’s predecessors going back almost 30 years to Parsons Software. It has always worked fine for me. It even runs under Wine.
It was vulgar but I didn’t even actually notice the race. I just flipped the channel when that guy spit on the other guy ... gross! I don’t need that in my living room.
Reverse roles and cities would burn.
Unfortunately, our side just has to START getting offended by this stuff.

As always, reverse it… and all hell breaks loose.

i raised my son to not see race... we are all human... his favorite GI Joe action figure was an Explorer with dark skin... while playing after he was in school for about 6 months, i found a piece off of one of his many action figures. does this belong to explorer joe? no dad, that piece is white, explorer joe is black... thanks AA history month for making my son see different races.

I’m a few days late to this party but I agree with you. It’s good to have a thick skin but not so thick that you can’t tell when you are PURPOSELY being insulted. This is the kind of ad someone from Black Lives Matter would write to appeal to other White-Haters.

Spit takes are now racist?! Don’t be a liberal. I mean it’s a lame commercial, but really, we need LESS people seeing EVERYTHING as race, not more. Get over yourself.
They COULD have had the Black guy spit it out in a direction away from the White guy, BUT NOOOOOoooo, they deliberately wrote it with the end results we’ve all seen. It’s a safe bet, that everyone involved is LEFTIST.
Common on, if the races were reversed, you’d know there would be a problem. So this is a literal and figurative spit in the white man’s face.
They COULD have realized spit takes have diminishing returns too. Safest bet is that everyone involved thinks they’re more clever than they are.
