20 years ago, lots of folks here thought that Bush was a great politician and Bill Gates was a great businessman.

Nowadays on this site, all Republicans besides Trump and Reagan are disliked. And even Trump and Reagan get criticized sometimes.
When someone lies to justify a crime it's not a mistake.
I was deeply troubled by the idea of invading Iraq. My thinking was this: If the evidence is true that they have WMDs and are providing weapons to terrorists than it is a serious security issue and I'd support it. However if it's a lie than Bush is straight up evil to lie so he could murder people. I (at the time) did not think Bush was evil. I now see my error. But that's why I supported the war, because it turns out that the people shouting "Bush lied, people died!" were right.

Absolutley. I have learned that I will never again support a war because a politician tells me that he knows a secret and you just have to trust him that it's important. Show me if it's that important. JFK showed the aerial photography on TV to let the American people know why we were escalating a dangerous situation. You can't tell me that anything was more sensitive than showing our capability to do that in the coldest part of a cold war between nuclear armed super powers. But it was done because the stakes demanded it. It can be done and should be done when the stakes are as high as war. And Bush said "trust me" and got his war. Never again.

The dirty secret is, we would have gotten war either way, and one side would have pretended to oppose it.
Clearly. We had four years without a new war for the first time in years and the powers that be showed their hands: they would do literally anything to get rid of Trump. I suspect if he had overcome their election shenanigans then he’d have been targeted for more permanent means. The DC swamp is not just corrupt, it’s filled with very evil people.

Gore probably would have used 9/11 to score partisan political points. He's a Democrat--that's what they do.
Truman could be called a war criminal for using the atomic bomb against Japan. If he had not, probably a lot more people would have died (since it's unlikely Japan would have surrendered without an invasion) but some of those killed at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in the bombs would have lived. So he is to blame for their deaths.
Ultimately, we can't know what the consequences would have been if Saddam Hussein was left in power, whether it would have been worse or not as bad as what happened when Bush decided to remove him from power by invading Iraq.
Yes, and they loved illegal aliens, at least Georg W. does, perhaps for the enormous harm they cause to this country. The greatest danger to this country come from the hordes of illegal aliens.
