The problem is that Russia can supply a lot of food, especially if they have Ukraine back as part of itself. Also the third world can supply things, all without US naval interdiction.

"Our Navy is very busy studying transgender pronouns."

Which goes along with the list of WOKE capabilities boasted by the developing liberalnation "Wokelitary," from,

The Pentagon Forming a Diversity and Inclusion Office, and

allowing transgenders to serve in the military,

and with the Pentagon even ensuring free gender reassignment surgery for active military personnel,

with Army mandatory training now including training Army personnel to know what to do in such scenarios as when a soldier who was "assigned" a biological gender at birth says he/she identifies as another gender, and lives as such in off-duty hours, but is not requesting to be treated as such while on duty, versus if such later requests to be identified as according to their chosen gender during duty hours, and/or experiences increased distress relating to his/her gender identity;

while apparently as part of the Naval Sea Systems Command Inclusion & Engagement Council’s Diversity Team's video series called “NAVSpEAks,” the Navy posts video on "the importance of using correct pronouns as well as polite etiquette when you may not be sure of someone's pronouns"

and the Air Force being with WOKEism in creating 'LGBTQ' and 'Indigenous Nations Equality' Focus Groups,

and also authorizing the use of gender pronouns in signature blocks,

and hosting a drag show at festival at Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE) on July, 2022, which also includes a poem on “Diversity, Equity and Inclusion,”

while the Army arms itself with a woke recruitment ad featuring lesbians at a gay wedding and an LGBTQ pride march,

and the CIA funds a 'cisgender millennial with anxiety disorder' campaign, and with the

Marines and Navy as well as the Air Force and Army posting messages on social media supporting gay pride and Pride Month,

with the former posting rainbow bullets, and the latter a rainbow colored arm and hand in salute (essentially to the flag of Sodom)

and with the Navy naming a military ship after gay rights leader Harvey Milk, and (now) with a transgender veteran christening it,

along with the Navy's first all gay U.S. Navy helicopter crew,

to lower fitness standards for women

while nearly half of female soldiers are still failing the new Army Fitness Test,

yet calling for Increased Diversity and More Women in Combat,

and changing its song to be gender-neutral,

and Forcing Marines to Make Boot Camp Coed,

and feeding cadets cultural Marxist propaganda about gender and masculinity therein,

to its new diversity and inclusion operation from West Point

and for its Special Operations Command ,

while showing a rapid response readiness to engage in online combat with the likes of Tucker Carson and other such enemies

thus nuking Jesus-themed candies on an Air Force bases

as well as the Pentagon ordering a company to stop making faith-based Dog Tags,

and prohibiting service members from “liking” or reposting "extremist" views on social media (depending on all the circumstances involved) as part of its prohibition against actively engaging in extremist activities,

yet allowing turbans and hijabs in the Air Force,

while working to rid the military of “extremism

such as the head of the US Space Force unit being fired and put under investigation for criticizing Critical Race Theory

And said, O my God, I am ashamed and blush to lift up my face to thee, my God: for our iniquities are increased over our head, and our trespass is grown up unto the heavens. (Ezra 9:6)

How do you hide a carrier that is in the middle of air operations? Planes landing and taking off.....

Our woke military is sadly a paper tiger as well. We don’t know how to win or seem to have a desire to win. Twenty years in Afghanistan with no senior officer capable of offering a route to victory and a humiliating withdrawal. The joint chiefs prancing around like woke fairies and reading the riot act to the straight white members of the military. Budget cuts, no coherent strategy for dealing with China at any level. Do we get a war of mediocrity if the US and China finally go to war where the least sorry military wins a Pyrrhic victory.

They could. Except there are no good overland routes between Russia and China. Can a bunch of trucks down a 1,000 mile long dusty highway really replace massive container and bulk carrier ships?

No.

China is isolated from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India (who would likely be at war with China), Bhutan and Myanmar by massive mountain ranges. The only overland trade would be Laos, Vietnam (enemy to China), Mongolia (same lack of infrastructure that Russia to China have) and North Korea.

Everything else has to float in.

All of that really sucks, but even today’s military isn’t a bunch of fags, dikes and trannies.

What is being imposed is not the norm by far.

The real bottom line: China is couldnt launch a missile to save their lives until Bill Clinton sold them the rocket tech they needed. Now their arsenal of advanced weapons are the top threat we face.

I disagree.

We can and did kick ass. Now, nation building, whether Afghanistan or Iraq, is not a thing you use a military for.

THAT mission was stupid and ill advised. Bush and Obama are both to blame.

The only way to win was go in, kick Taliban and Al Qeada to the curb (successful, by Spring of 2002) and then LEAVE. Or throw off the politically imposed ridiculous rules of engagement and utterly destroy every Muslim man. Convert the rest to Christianity.

Those prancing fairies were really in the first floor E-Ring (SecDef) and the White House and the Executive Office Building.

Why did you think Trump wanted to leave? It’s not because we were losing; the mission was just plain BS we didn’t need to do. The rules of engagement and mission was supposed to fail. That’s why Donald said you’re fired.

#44. From post #17, How to Hide a Task Force. During NORPAC 82, the U.S. Navy had a carrier task force 200 nautical miles away from a Soviet airfield in the Kuril Islands. The Russians were unable to locate the task force, and not for lack of trying.

You did not answer my question because you can’t answer my question.

NORPAC 82 was 40 years ago. Give me a break.

I gave you a link to an article which explains the basics of how it is done, and a brief explanation in my original post.

NROPAC 82 was 40 years ago, that is 100% correct. Using the curvature of the earth, radar horizons, and turning off radio emitters to avoid detection have not changed.

I understand the link and thank you.

But how is a carrier undetected when carrying out air operations? Or is it impossible to hide during air operations?

As to how to hide a carrier during flight operations, I have no idea. I found this Hiding in Plain Sight—The U.S. Navy and Dispersed Operations under EMCON, 1956–1972. While it covers a historical period, the first few pages show that for the Navy these questions and efforts to solve them are not new.

Don't know about Chinese satellites or how their AI affects matters. Do know the Navy has SM-3s which can shoot down satellites, Operation Burnt Frost, January-February 2008. That kind of capability improves the odds just a little.

China is surrounded by nations hostile to the Chinese. Their navy would be sunk and their troops left in China.

True, but there are two problems with this.

1. We knew all of this when our side supported those free trade deals, yet many on our side supported them anyway. Not all, but you know who you are.
2. Clinton was out of office in 2001. Any technology that was stolen or sent to China to be stolen happened on his successors' watch.

I was in many of these debates, and I was fed the lines about how we were protectionists and it would benefit the consumer. I was even called stupid by another Freeper for choosing Made in USA over cheaper made by communist slave labor.

How are those cheaper prices working out for us now?

No reference at hand, but whose equipment runs the 5G backbone has been reported many times, perhaps internet search is your friend?

They do, BTW, because their stuff is the best and because they are much cheaper than the competition. Their stuff is the best because they took US tech that no one in the US wanted at the time and developed it.
