Yep, it is an extremely dangerous FAD with kids who are desperately looking to belong to a group. Just like gang wannabes. Or Dopers. Or Goths.
This young lady was fairly attractive before she screwed up. At least she realized that she had screwed up before it was too late.
I don’t think it is so much as seeking attention as seeking acceptance. As she said, as a normal white girl she was expected to constantly grovel and beg forgiveness among the “friends” she made on tumblr. But as a trans, she was suddenly catapulted to the leftist revered status of “victim”.
I believe that young “tans” children are victims of Munchausen’s By Proxy Syndrome and it is their mothers who are applauded for letting Johnny wear a dress to school or Jenny to take hormone blockers when she is 9.

I can’t believe I read the whole darn thing. I feel like I fell down Alice’s rabbit hole with all the new ideas and terminology. This is a dangerous social phenomenon that so-called adults are encouraging to happen without any real questioning or analysis. I believe that one day we will look back on this era with horror for what was done to our young people.
If she gets married, has a happy marriage with children of her own body, ten I will pay attention. Until then, no thank you .

Agreed. This was a very interesting and well written article. For our side to dismiss it, is really short sighted and sad. She’s a powerful voice on our side.
If by just making a little change you could be loved and wanted.... most people would do it.

What I find utterly horrifying is that there are medical "professionals" who violate their Hippocratic oath to enable the twisted fantasies and delusions of some people.
There is no reason at all, none, for a healthy young woman to be injected with testosterone and encouraged to cut off her breasts and reproductive organs.
Thank God this young woman woke up and backed out of it before she took it any further surgically.

Very interesting point. That does seem to fit many situations.
After reading that article, I will, from this point forward, interpret the word "affirming" as "enabling."
It seems this all happen when our culture started accepting and "affirming" gays. That was a very slippery slope...and I'll bet we aren't anywhere near the bottom of that slope.
Not only that, they are born perfect.Without blemish or sin.
