A lot of it is entrapment. At least at first.
Don’t get me wrong, these people aren’t saints and monks. Some of them get told the parties have some seedier aspects to them, but some of them are just led to believe they will be networking and hobnobbing with other powerful people. By the time they realize they are in the trap they feel like they can’t back out. They are already compromized
These kinds of allegations float around, often made by people who claim to have proof, yet the proof is never quite forthcoming. And it never seems to occur to the dolts that if they actually have proof, they need to make it public for their own protection.

I don’t get it either, unless (for unknown reasons) this perversion is seen as
expected behavior from the elite, and some non-pedos are feigning just enough interest in order to maintain very lucrative business contacts.
Sorry but it is far more likely this guy had some very peculiar, decadent habits, was about to be exposed and took the coward’s way out. All he had to do was donate to the right Democrats and all his legal problems would have gone away.

I’m not familiar with Cawthorn but I’ve read a bit on Epstein and listened to a few podcasts, and people don’t realize how sophisticated and how aggressive their efforts were to pull powerful people into their web. If you want to stay out of the conspiratorial (political) side, then at the very least it was all for the greater accumulation of money and influence and greed.

Seems pretty plain that Epstein was part of an undercover blackmail operation.
As for this most recent guy, maybe he was murdered or maybe he just did something wrong and knew it was about to come out and he panicked.
Remember the CIA official who said he knew something about the Kennedy assassination and that they were going to kill him and make it look like suicide or an accident?
They claim he was sitting in his kitchen soon after and a kid fired a 22 caliber rifle at least a mile from his home and the trajectory brought it into his house.
