America’s Frozen Banana Republic.
My split the vote idea is more likely.
>> The one with the lowest votes in the primary of the two needed to step down
exactly. same reason we lost the Senate in 2020 via GA
the GOP is replete with f#-tards
“I blame the GOP dude, he split the vote.”
Ultimately, because it is ranked choice, there is no vote splitting. In the final count, Palin lost head to head to Pelota, with Begich gettin zero votes.
Mary Peltola D 91,206 votes 51.5%
Sarah Palin R 85,987 votes 48.5%
Nick Begich R 0 votes 0%
It’s not more likely because that isn’t what transpired as a matter of history.
You seem to think we are entitled to make up our own history vs. actual history. You were just flat out wrong.
Truth and reality is not relative.
BFD. It’s Alaska. Most of them are suffering from cabin fever.
Sarah was living in Arizona before she ran.
Probably would have been best had the one with the negatives as high as Biden’s with the electorate had stepped down. Academic exercise at this point.
She should’ve dropped out and let the other Republican win. Or the other guy should’ve dropped out and let her win. both are very spoiled brats.
Problem is the voters voted for this rank structure. Utah and Nevada are next to get ranked choice voting.
The positives or negatives, are for Alaskan voters to decide, no one else. Not the media, not the lower 48 denizens. That is what primaries are for. Who was the top vote getter in the primaries?
xactly.
Why did Alaskans fall for such a scheme?
Rank Choice Voting my butt.More like Election Fraud. This crap has to be stopped.it is designed to steal elections.
Still don’ understand this system, Pertola got 48 percent of the vote, did all of Begich’s votes go to Pertola?

No, just that dude was a Democrat, had no chance.
This system just gives them a 2nd chance to cheat.
However, with ranked voting, I would need to see the final numbers to understand if Begich caused the GOP defeat.
It might be possible that Palin, who got 26%, pulled the victory away from Begich.
Begich, from memory, is a youngster, and both his father and grandfather have previously held high office in Alaska.

Palin + Republican Nick Begich only got 49.1% of the vote.
As I understand it, ranked choice voting is used if no one gets over 50%.
Once ranked choice comes into play, I have no idea how to predict the final winner.
Has the Alaska Senate race been called yet?
Murkowski failed to reach 50%, and her GOP opponent was less than 1% behind Murkowski.
