With pervasive gambling, the transfer portal and not even academic lip service anymore, what could go wrong?

Well, they’ve probably had other people doing their homework and taking their tests for them since Junior High, so what’s the problem? Keep spoiling them.

They should call it the blacks are too stupid protocol.

If I was an intelligent black person, I would be pissed.

Dexter Manley in his NFL Hall of Fame speech admitted he couldn’t read.
Oklahoma State must be proud…

Might as well, the transfer portal has made college completely a feeder league for the NFL (not that isn’t wasn’t mostly before).

They should also call it the alumni are too stupid protocol.

At this point what real connection do "student athletes" have with the rest of the college population? In what way should your alma mater winning a game years after you graduated have any impact on your gifting?

But evidently lots of colleges will go into debt financing their sports teams because the alumni returns make it a net profit.

Sad. Truly sad.

The NCAA should just be dealing with sporting rules. The colleges should handle the academics.

These policies cast a pall over the genuine achievements of black Americans. We can never know, when dealing with black professionals, if they are in their position due to Affirmative Action or excellent performance. It is very patronizing. We treat an entire race of people like pets.

The NCAA’s Own Goal: A January vote may permanently eliminate standardized-testing requirements for student-athletes.

The NCAA should quit pretending they are "student-athletes".

I would never give a penny to my university.
I paid tuition, we’re equal.
Football at my university makes a huge amount of money though.

Next they’ll waive attendance, and after that they’ll eliminate classes altogether.

Great. Remove the one incentive the student athletes had to actually study.

I have Hispanic and Black friends (no, I’m not making “that comment”) who earned their degrees - professional aka graduate level ones - that make this very point. They find the leftist pandering of minorities offensive in the extreme. (Yes, they’re on our side. In fact make me look like a liberal by comparison.)

I’d only make the athletes who want an actual major take classes. And if the athlete just wants basketweaving as a major, no need for classes.

My college had entire departments just to keep the idiot athletes on the honor rolls.

That’s the main purpose of the “Studies” Departments.

More of the nefarious process to “dumb down” American society.

How can the NCAA, an athletic association, set admission policies for member universities? This is pretty amazing, pretty blatant, to try and eliminate standardized admissions tests for athletes only.
