It’s a natural human impulse to want safety. Would you rather live in a white community with an astronomical crime rate or a middle class mixed black majority community with a low crime rate? I doubt either whites or blacks in the black majority community would be in a rush to move to the crime community. The reality is that there are overwhelmingly more crime free white communities than black communities in the US, so naturally all races with an interest in safety - black, white and Asian would prefer living there.
So what you’re saying is, it’s black’s fault.

A little story... Years ago, a family member was teaching first grade at a Catholic elementary school. At the beginning of the school year, there was a single black student in the class, a boy I’ll call “William.” Midyear, a 2nd black boy I’ll call “Ike” joined the class after transferring in from public school, I believe. Ike was very disruptive, surly, aggressive, had a bad attitude, etc., and William soon became his sidekick. This turn of evens resulted in William getting into a bit of trouble here and there, and generally worsening as a student. At some point, William’s mother came in for a parent-teacher conference at which she said to my family member something along the lines of this: “I wanted to ask you something, and this is probably going to sound weird, but is Ike black?” My family member indicated that, yes, he was. William’s mother: “I thought so from what I’m hearing about him, but William never actually said so. You know, I have William in this school because there were so few black going here.”

I’ve mentioned this before. The black former air force sergeant who lives across from one of my rentals told me, “When blacks ask me if your house is still for rent, I tell them no.” Looking at my reaction he laughed and said, “at your price point they are either on drugs or selling drugs. I don’t want either across the street from me.”
Having said that, I had to evict two white women in separate incidents from that very house. One went to prison for drugs and the other got the free government covid money and apparently spent it on drugs as she went from making it just fine to no money to spend on rent or the electric. So, it’s not just blacks, but the probabilities are higher with darker skin.
Oh, favorite story. I was working on this property when a nicely dressed black man driving a Cadilac stopped to talk to my neighbor. It seemed to be a friendly conversation except the neighbor’s body language was really tense. When the guy waved goodby and drove off I went over. “Cephus, what was that about?”
Spitting mad he said, “That f@@king n@@@@@r stopped to see if I wanted to buy some cocaine!”
“Uhm, do you know him?”
“NO! I don’t know him!”
Blacks complain they get arrested for drugs more than whites and that’s racist. I’ve known a few whites who were into drugs over the decades and none of them were that bold. At least when I knew these people and to my knowledge they’d never been arrested.
Lincoln wanted to. The already freed blacks, like Fredrick Douglas, were against it, mostly because THEY didn't want to be forced to go back to Africa. Screw what would have been good for the vast majority of the uneducated, angry slaves. These elite blacks didn't want to go back to the motherland and face the brutality there.

It’s really not the issue. Whites are not flocking to be with other whites. The black population is flocking to be with other blacks. That is more the issue. In the white population, people will move to the best neighborhood they can afford. In the black population most blacks will live in the black neighborhood even though they could afford a much nicer house in a much better school district in a richer neighborhood. At all levels of the economic scale from low income to middle income to high income, most blacks live near other blacks. In the richest neighborhoods you will find very few blacks, but you will find several Asians middle easterners, Hispanics et al.
If it’s racist to live among your own kind 90% of whites are racist.
I’d rather live next to conservative blacks than white liberals.

I was cube mates with an AA IT analyst. Got a 4 year and post grad degree but insisted on living in the hood. Asked him why & said if he moved out, he would be considered uppity. He ended up getting shot in his leg at a party for talking to another guys girlfriend.
