However a .357 or 10mm round to the head would have been more than effective. Oh wait, its Canada. No guns allowed.

A .45 auto would probably be more effective than bear spray.

I don’t know why anyone would go into Bear Country without at least a 40cal with a 15 round mag in battery. But my favorite would be 12gage slug gun.

It’s SPRING!
Male bears are waking up from their annual siesta and they’re hungry and horny, in that order. First thing they want is a good feeding. In spring there are no berries or other things Yogi normally munches on, and Yogi really has a taste for protein at this point, so hikers and their pets are high on the menu along with bear cubs and anything else Yogi comes across. Sorry Boo Boo but you ARE on the menu. And you will remain so until you’re big enough to fend off the fully grown Yogi.

Once Yogi has taken care of his hunger he naturally goes looking for some bear nooky. Bear sows will not go into heat if they are currently nursing a cub so if Yogi comes across a sow nursing a cub he has been known to kill the cub to induce the sow into the heat cycle.

Fun fact....sow bears may breed with one or many boars and have many fertilized eggs but if she is in poor health or hasn’t put on enough weight to see herself and the cubs through the winter and early spring those eggs will not implant but be passed through without any development at all.
Very brilliant IMVHO.

Just today I purchased ammo to supplement
my Bearspray , Bells And Pepper.
Barnes .357 Mag 180 grain.
Just not sure whether to first Ring the Bell or season the Bear The Spray?
.
I want a positive experience for
Both of Us.

Some environmentalist bureaucrat’s utopian regulations probably made bear spray manufacturing ineffectual.
