Well I guess this tells us everything we need to know about how fast he would fold if he was ever forced to endure a fraction of what Trump has been faced with.

Anyone who things Desantis, (and every other establishment candidate) is not wholly owned by the establishment/RINO money men are fools.

What they want has NOTHING to do with what is good for your, just whats good to pad the pockets of their donors... period.

ncalburt, is this true or not?

Did Robert Bigelow tell Reuters that he has told the DeSantis managers the candidate needs to take moderate positions, or he will not donate any more money?

And when asked by reporters in Iowa about the Trump indictment and the claims of the 2020 election being stolen, did DeSantis say “All those theories that were put out did not prove to be true."

From what I have seen, DeSantis has been trying to walk a fine line to avoid alienating voters who still back Trump by saying things like "it may have happened in other states, but I didn't let it happen in Florida", and then right after admonition by his biggest donor, made a very specific statement saying it didn't happen?

Or, is he just trying to be cute and lawyer-like and say "...did not prove to be true..."

I don't think attacking the blogger has any bearing on this. I think what is important is to determine if someone pulled a financial string, and DeSantis made a statement in reaction to it.

That may be true, but when he makes a statement, he doesn’t stick his finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing.

reading the comments here assures me how many biden fans there are posing as conservatives pretending to back a single digit candidate who is being funded by the same deepstate that backed Jeb.

Did a string get pulled and DeSantis’ mouth move or not?

Let’s discuss the issue at hand. Did this happen or not?

Fairfax, Va. - The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) endorsed President Donald Trump for reelection as the president of the United States of America in 2020. The endorsement was announced in a letter sent to the president yesterday, Wednesday, July 15.

“On behalf of America’s 5 million NRA members, the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) is proud to endorse your reelection as president of the United States of America. You have done more than any president to protect the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms. The NRA stands behind you and your administration.

“We were proud to play a leading role in your 2016 election. You promised to defend the Second Amendment and stand tall for the constitutional freedoms in which our members believe. You recognize the Second Amendment is about liberties that belong to all Americans. You have delivered on your promise in extraordinary ways,” the letter states.

But Drew knows better.

The most conservative guy in the race getting flak from fans of a billionaire buffoon who embraces the delusions of trannies.

Yep. 2024 is shaping up to be the greatest electoral catastrophe the Republican Party has ever seen.

Oh well. What can we do except watch it all unfold.

At least there will be schadenfreude to savor. And savor it, I will.

How quickly conservatives forget how deftly DeSantis managed the state of Florida during COVID. I have no doubt that his policy of making antibody treatments available throughout the state is responsible for me and my 85-year-old-with-severe-COPD mother still being alive.

And DeSantis has been putting his thumb into the eye of leftists for years. He divested Florida pensions from woke ESG corps, and those corps are starting to ditch ESG as a result.

DeSantis is great, and Trump is greater yet.

But Drew knows better.

So what? The NRA also endorsed Mitt Romney who signed an Assault Weapons Ban while governor of Massachusetts.

Romney and Trump have banned more guns than Obama ever did.

I don’t give a squat about the NRA. The only thing they care about is signing up new members.

I have tried to keep an open mind on all the major candidates on the Republican side, or at least the top three which I see as Trump, DeSantis, and Ramaswamy.

I have been inclined towards getting Trump elected in 2024, but I have also been keeping the other candidates under consideration, because if Trump is disallowed due to the sham trials (and I decide not to hand-write his name on my ballot) then I need to have an idea of who I should vote for.

But I do have a hard stop on ANY candidate where I will not support them: If they do not concede that the 2020 election was corrupted and flawed.

I have become nearly a single issue voter on that subject alone, because in my opinion, if we don't fix that, we are done. And that has disqualified both DeSantis and Ramaswamy for me at this time.

I recognize one or both of them may triangulate and change their position to get votes, but I doubt I will be swayed unless I hear an explanation of WHY they changed their position.

To me, this statement by DeSantis sounds too lawyerly and like Bill Clinton saying: "It depends on what the meaning of ‘is’ is"
