Bring back the draft. Or get rid of the standing army.
Tell them their student loans will be forgiven if they are drafted and serve in a forward operating area, a combat zone, for three years. Also remind them of the book and film “The Execution of Private Slovik” with Martin Sheen. I wonder how they would react. Just a thought for today.

A modified draft is a good idea. One year of mandatory training and then the reserves.

Perhaps you need to read Congressional Records. Surprisingly enough, last year a bill by the REPUBLICANS was introduced for a draft reinstatement.It was shelved, for now.
I fully expect, on our current trajectory, next year 2024/25 the bill will HAVE to be reintroduced….for many reasons, lowest recruitment in decades, wars declared, etc….
It’s coming.
Anyone who wants an accurate picture of what kind of troops we’d get from a draft today should watch the first 1/2 hour of “Stripes” - and that might be optimistic.
I doubt that my son would let himself be drafted. Biden & Co. have made zero attempts to peacefully settle the Ukraine-Russia war, and have clearly been goading the Chinese. I would stand with my son on this issue - these are Biden’s and the Bankers’ war, and I can’t see where it makes any sense on a personal or a national level to continue this kind of reckless action. Even if it never goes nuclear, millions will die for nothing, and mist nations (ours included) would end up bankrupt.
