There are exceptions but I think the record of news media types who run for office is that they often lose. William Buckley once tried to and lost I think. Granted it was in NY IIRC.

I think he enjoys his life too much. Right now, he is able to travel to Europe. If he runs on Trump ticket as the VP, he won't be able to do things like that anymore.
Trump promised to appoint Supreme Court justices from a list made by the Federalist (or Heritage? I forget) Society and that is exactly what he did. Tbe Turtle did, uncharacteristically, a good job on getting them confirmed but had nothing to do with making the selections. The funny thug is that as big of a disaster that Mitch is (and he is truly awful), he was essential to keeping Garland off the Supeme Court. But life is messy like that.

Ron DeSantis has been the most successful conservative governor in a generation. He flipped Florida red. And he's never lost an election.
But I suppose, if the New York liberal cult leader wins the primary, I'll vote for him. I'm honest enough to admit that Trump is better than Biden.
But I'm not expecting much.

Tucker would not be interested. He is rebuilding his life, after being fired by Fox News and I don’t think he would quit Twitter that is paying him a lot of money to limit himself to the salary of the VP.
Tucker has to hit irons while they are hot or he won’t have have anything to go back to in four years if he did accept Trump’s offer.
