I remember in about 1970. A viet nam vet had a false heroin addiction on his record, and couldn’t get his honorable discharge…The Chicago military office could never fix it. Nixon got wind of the problem and threatened to transfer everyone to Alaska if it wasn’t fixed in 48 hours and the vets honorable discharge delivered personally. The problem was “magically” fixed.
