One of my favorites, discovered him during the time I was laid off due to covid. I can open tons of locks now, and with the Lishi tools nothing is safe.
Agreed. All those stupid bells and whistles for those that think they are tech savvy by buying it.
I’d much rather look stupid and out of date with real keys to open a door or start the vehicle. And hacking into the vehicle to do these things remotely can be defeated, I’ve done it.
You bet, and most of the whiz bang features of today, nobody uses them. But they sure are charging $$ for them...
I only have one vehicle with a remote start, my Caddy CTS-V and it lives in the hangar with my planes, very secure!
I just bought my first used car at a higher end used car dealership. One of the owners helped me and showed me some videos of one of their autos being stolen.
The thieves broke into a Dodge with the Hellcat engine and in less than 20 seconds were gone. They wrecked that car up near DC in Fairfax County. Injured an older man as they hit him head on. There was security video showing them getting out of the wrecked Dodge, breaking into a parked Dodge RT and taking off in less than 15 seconds.
I’ve actually started engines with a hand crank. Right now I have two old Dodges that have the hand crank feature.
My granddad had a crooked nose. He was hand cranking a car and it kicked back on him with the crank handle hitting his nose and breaking it. Thumbs can also be broken. Never wrap your thumb around the crank handle, always place it on the handle side where the rest of the fingers are.
I’ve had two cars stolen
that utilized mechanical
keys. If it’s a desirable
vehicle, they’ll find a
way to steal it.
No one here claimed they were theft proof, only that they’ve been working very well for hundreds of years.
By the way if I ever had two cars that had been stolen, I’d be moving away from that s*** hole.
