Oh that is an easy one to explain: The “conservatives” that fall for this tripe are either gay themselves, or so terrified of them that they feel it’s worthy of a nuclear confrontation. For some reason, they believe they are going to be buggered. Go figure.
It’s funny, a comedian who had a TV show where he did a lot of skits—some of them making fun of the gay culture—and they think that is the man. Yet they love a man who made his living pretending to be a “boss” on a TV show whose schtick was to “act tough”, is actually the character he played.
I think the message here is that these people believe what they see on TV is real.
They are in for a shock in life.
No, NATO was not formed to fight Russia. NATO was formed to fight the Comintern alliance that became known as the Warsaw Pact. Reagan’s policies deposited that threat on the ash heap of history in the early 90s. That is exactly where, through their bumbling, the dip$hips and traitors running things in DC are about to place NATO. THAT, is a good thing.

Yes, There is no reason to fight Russia. NATO is a defensive alliance which is why the eastern European countries joined NATO after the fall of the Soviet Union. They fear Russia with good reason having suffered under brutal oppression from Moscow for 45 years.
NATO will not invade Russia. But Russia may invade NATO just like they have done with Ukraine. Putin is a Stalin wannabe, an ex KGB thug, who has openly mourned the fall of the Soviet Empire. His approved commentators on Russian TV have openly talked about attacking Poland and the Baltic countries to punish them for supporting Ukraine.
The Putinistas on FR evidently believe that “Peace in Our Time” will work with Putin. Just as Neville Chamberlain believed it would work with Hitler.

This is factually incorrect. The Warsaw Pact didn’t even come into existence until: (1) NATO was created; and (2) NATO denied the request from the Soviet Union to join NATO.
NATO was created so the U.S. would have a reason to keep a permanent military presence in Europe. Its main purpose is to protect Western Europe from Germany, not the Soviet Union.
The old line about NATO was that it was created to “keep the Russians out, the Americans in, and the Germans down.”

One minor correction...NATO was formed to primarily oppose the Soviet Union and its allies.
Warsaw Pact didn’t come into being until 1955...NATO 1949.
(It has got to be a nuclear power—flip a coin—India or Pakistan.)
Since Pock-EEE-stan was just bombed by Iran, I’m not so sure it’ll be either of them.
