Kitty Thread XXVI - Morning Stretching Exercise (Humor/Meow Alerts)
27 October 2003 | PetroniDE

Good Morning Kitty Freepers.
Rise and Shine for another Monday

Most of us had one extra hour sleep this weekend, so no excuse for being sluggish out of bed. For those of you living in states/counties that didn't turn your clocks back, get up and shine anyway.

Freeper science_diet has found at least one kitty that is willing to help. Just "do as the kitty does" for five minutes of stretching and y'all should be ready to go.

Kitty Caption is a weekly feature on FR. A little humor using our furry feline friends to brighten the week among all the serious news. Kitty humor threads usually appear on Monday in the General Interest section. We are now up to 100 pingees on the kitty humor list. If you want to join up or have a picture/animation you want considered, please send me Freepmail.

That's a beautiful cat.

What is it about cats and paper?

Mine love to lay on newspaper, books, magazines, and most especially MAPS!
It can get very exciting if you are trying to clip coupons and the cat is nearby!

Maybe cats are just against literature! LOL!

Teach the cat to clip the coupons, or at least rip the liberal papers.

My kitty also loved the tissue paper from gifts to lie on.She thought Christmas was for her!Another couldn't bear to see me reading the newspaper without knocking it down and sitting on it in my lap.

I've discovered one can type on the computer and read the internet with my daughter's pleasingly plump kitty on my lap.No paper to distract her!

I used to quilt back before I had a child and could still see. 8-)
I had a cat then who was FASCINATED by the moving needle, and would "pounce" my hand from under the frame.

But Christmas IS for cats! Why else wuld we drag a live tree into the house and hang all of those tempting , fragile little things off of it?

My daughter's cat LOVES Christmas! LOL!

The papers here are so BAD, too!
Ann Arbor News and Detroit Free Press!
I only get the Sunday edition for the coupons and the comics.
I get my news off of Fox or the Net , and of course, Free Republic!

My cats are conservatives, BTW!

Tried to have a Xmas tree about 15 years ago...beautiful 6' tree, lovingly decorated. Took my cat at the time (the notorious Ms. Terry, R.I.P.) all of 15 seconds to climb to the top and topple the whole thing. I shudder to think what the 4 members of my beserk tribe would do....

You forgot to mention the cats who try to become the Christmas Angel at the top of the tree! ROFL

Send me a few of those Xmas pictures. Might make good kitty caption material during the holidays.

We were able to negotiate a Christmas Tree Treaty with the elderly siamese cat.

My daughter's cat ( aptly named Krusty" after the Simpson's character) refused to sign, however.
We still do a tree, but nothing breakable is put on it, and the tree is wired to a small eyebolt mounted in a corner of the room . Krusty has a lovely time knocking things OFF of the tree, occasionally cimbing into the tree, and eating the bows off of the packages.

Fortunately for the cat, my daughter loves him.

Although some of us forgot to set the clock back, and when we got up early Sunday to go to the Festival and checked the weather on the PC and saw 5:39 in the taskbar . . . not that I did that, of course.

Dolly and Dennis couldn't give a damn about paper, but Spot the feral beauty cat adores grocery bags and newspapers. She is compelled to place her increasingly round bod square in the center of every newspaper page with geometric precision.

Krusty loves grocery bags, too, especially if you throw a still-wrapped Kraft carmel into the bag. The crinkley cellophane realy appeals to him, and the carmel is just the right size/weight for batting about! If you have no carmels, a 20-sided die does almost as well.

The old Siamese is a freak for pumpkin guts. Later this week we will carve pumpkins, and I know she will turn up, demanding a bit of the pulp. She does the ame thing with cantaloupe.

VERY odd!

And "Hi"! , Xena!

;-)

Sorry, the pictures got lost in the many moves I've made. House sat for fellow Freeeper last Christmas and their two cats did a number on the tree. One dy, the tree topper was under the sofa and the lights were in a ling on the living room floor! My Pug just admires the table tree which is safely out of reach so it can't be marked. BYW, how would one post a picture in Freep?

Does she eat the pulp, or just play with it? Stuff grosses me out, so I'd LOVE a cat to come by and deal with it.

She eats a little of it, purring loudly all the while.

Not enough to dispose of all of it, though!
Someone on this board once told me that it's because hse wants the fiber. I have since grown some grass in a pot, but she won't touch THAT! LOL!

I'm okay with pumpkin guts, but i was a Nursing Assistant and now a Mom. I can touch ANYTHING!
