HAPPY HOLIDAYS
FROM THE CHAIRMAN AND THE 'SOCIETY'

Good Morning, Chair. I never tire of viewing your beautiful tree. Congrats to your kiddos on creating a 'work of art'.

Bill Gertz was on Fox News last night discussing the anthrax-terrorist connection. Makes the FBI look pretty bad, among other things....We may never know everything about that affair.
Good morning Chairman, everyone!

Good morning, everyone. We have a deep frost on the golf course this morning but the sun is shining and it's expected the temps will get to the low 60's today in S. Carolina.
Molly - that Bill Gertz interview on FNC was excellent last night. We'd just finished watching Seabiscuit, a most worthy Oscar award winning movie, and turned on FNC for a few minutes before reading. Bill Gertz's books are very worth reading as well.
On another thread about anthrax yesterday, a Freeper had many links that reminded us that one or two of the 9/11 terrorists had a case of cutaneous (sp?) anthrax and sought medical help. As well, one of the terrorists rented an apartment from the wife of the first victim to die of anthrax. The police don't generally believe in such coincidences and neither do it.

A GOOD A.M. TO ONE AND ALL OUT IN THIS WONDERFUL LAND OF OURS FROM THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST, USA!!!!
Tis the season to start the 'wind down' from that big ole Christmas we just experiences and to get ready to eat those leftovers for the next week or so, with me it will be a spell cause d freezes the stuff.
Going to get my black-eye peas today. Going to the farm to get a mess of greens, feed the birds. Going to take d and sil to the casino where he won a trip to watch the Saints play tomorrow, going by limo, a contest they had among the employees and he won. Costume contest, he has won for the past three years in a row and I gotta tell you, I would NEVER wear some he wore to win, never.
It came to me last night just how Dean can help himself, appoint a 'minder' to follow him around. How can Kerry be helped? Nothing can. A person who uses the words he does just shows how he was raised, as we say down here, his 'upbringing'.
Hehehe, ole Julian got his feelings hurt on Fox this morning, he has been pouting, maybe he will get mad and just walk out.
Well, I gotta go, gd wants me to play dolls with her, it sure is amazing just what all those grandkids can make you do but you know, you do it and love every minute of it.
Here is hoping that all have a good day, a safe one and that your day be filled with the smiles I will have. Toby

For some historical perspective, I thought I'd post this awe-inspiring painting of the Marines at Tarawa. One slide show author for a different Tarawa site suggested that the strategy of drawing us into island-hopping warfare employed by the Japanese was intended to sap support for the offense at home.
It didn't work. It's not going to work now. We're coming, and we won't stop until our work is done.

My husband just sent Fox a note telling them they shouldn't worry about Julian's hurt feelings, as hopefully he won't be with them much longer. HA!
To: Miss Marple
I emailed Ailes the last time I contadted them and was told they would pass it on to him but doubted if he would read it. Hurt my feelings.
Your husband is like me, disgusted to the enth degree with them and the sad part about it, nothing on the other channels to watch to take their place.
I am off to the farm, talk to ya'll later.

Good morning folks. Thanks for the link on the New Years Eve terror try, Molly. We have plans to fly to FL a few days after New Years. I just told Mr. Prairie that we need to be prepared to get in the truck and start driving in case anything happens that causes the airports to close temporarily.
I'm NOT changing our plans and refuse to be threatened into fear. Take that, you terrorist losers! Heh!
BTW, if anybody is looking for information on Mad Cow Disease the FAQ on this link is good. Actually the whole site is good and has the latest presser transcripts and updates:

When you travel, be sure to have your credit card balances paid up so you can do whatever is necessary to get home.
I have 2 friends who were in DC on 9-11. One of them was able to find a rental car and drive back to Iowa. The other friend wasn't quite so lucky. All the rental cars were gone when he tried to rent. He ended up buying a car, using his American Express card, in order to get out of there and home to his family in Iowa.

He ended up buying a car, using his American Express card,Yeows! Think I would check into a bus ticket. Maybe they were sold out too.
Our credit card balances are paid in full every month. No way do we incur any of that high priced interest. My consultant insists. ;^)

A former Air Force Captain I work with sent this to me. If you have cable or DSL it won't take long to download. I imagine a sprite longer with dial up - - but it's well worth it.
hello my friends! hope you had a blessed Christmas! Prayers for those folks and their folks who need them! I'll check in later

Hi! Back from morning errands. We had to go pick up my granddaughter's flower girl dress for the wedding. It is quite fancy, with beaded trim and embroidery.
Hubby has gone to get a hair cut, and I am checking the news for a few minutes.

Hi and I am back from the farm, got me a bunch of collard and turnip greens, and you should see the turnips, some a big as softballs. I just cooked three of them along with the greens but the turnips filled me up. I also like them raw.
I got two seed catalogs in today, will start making my order from them in a couple of weeks. I am going to try to find some onion and potatoE seedlings local and go on an get them planted now. I have been preparing my plot all winter, tilling, 'horse stuff' and this year I am trying something new, 30" wide rows to plant in and am going to fix me something for the cucumbers to climb on. Not planting bush beans this year, planting pole beans and got some bamboo for them to climb up on.
