Dave Matthews Rips Bush Apart In New Rolling Stone: "I Can Run The Country Better"
chatsite ^ | 1-2-04

Excerpt from Rolling Stone Magazine:

Dave Matthews:

"I'd drink with George W. just to get him out of the White House.

Rolling Stone: Do you feel like an outsider in America?

Dave Matthews: A lot of people feel like outsiders, and we are viewed as outsiders by the government. Or as Un-American. I am way more American than George Bush and Dick Cheney. They have no fucking idea what it is to be American. They are fucking idiots who are programmed to everything in the hands of the few. They think it's right that them and theirs have everything and everyone else get by on good hard work. There is something charming about a simple man in the White House. But that's what is deceiving: He's not a simple man.

He represents the tiniest, tiniest percentage. He got here on the shoulders of giants. I think the Christian world feels an obligation to support him, because he claims to be a Christian. I don't see much of a Christian in him. I think there should be a long line of nuns ready to smack the crap out of him.

Rolling Stone: Do you think you are more capable of running the country than George W ?

Dave Matthews: Yeah, I'd deal with things more delicately.I think I have a much clearer view of the world than he does.

Rolling Stone: How So?

Dave Matthews: I understand people a lot better than he does. And I don't want the job- but there is no shortage of people who can run the country better than him. The most important task in America right now is getting this Administration out of power. I think they are a very dangerous bunch, riddled with dangerous minds. There's a very ignorant view in the White House: a thoughtless, fundamendalist, scary view of how to better the world. I'm truly frightened of this Administration.

Rolling Stone: Do you plan on being more politically outspoken in 2004?

Dave Matthews: My focus is to take them out. Hearing myself say that is sort of depressing. I don't know yet who I want to endorse, but I want minds like Dennis Kucinich. I want variety. But we're sort of in this avalanche, and we have to stop falling before we can fix it. The Bush Administration has squandered everything...they don't have a fucking clue.

Sorry for the profanity in it..just printed it as it was said exactly. I think the vile hatred he has for this Administration needed to be shown in all it's color. Too bad because I am a HUGE Dave Matthews Band fan. I am sick of his preaching on how Bush is a terrorist. If you are reading this and thinking who cares what he has to say or who is he?

Try he is the most popular male artist of the last decade...easily.

Another spoiled millionaire musician who fancies himself one of the "little men".
I wonder if he will begin to share his wealth with the little people and give back what must be considerable tax breaks from the evil Bush administration.
BTW,I stopped listening to current rock music years ago and maybe that is a good thing.

"They are fucking idiots who are programmed to [sic] everything in the hands of the few. They think it's right that them and theirs have everything and everyone else get by on good hard work."

How much money does Mr. Matthews have? Does he change his own toilet paper when the roll runs out?

Wait, is that his new toupee on the cover?

I could never understand the dave matthews band fans. They acted like he was rock, but it was just musak with drums. Dave matthews is to rock and roll what jethro tull is to heavy metal. Ack.

This guy's a REAL thinker!!

He seems to put all his energy getting to the end of his sentences, but neglects to get to the point. Did anyone note a single substantive policy in his complaints?

He can run the country better? Yeah, ok. For a guy who can`t even sing, much less write songs, I doubt you could even wipe your ass, Davey boy. Tell you what, why don`t you go on tour with Bruce Spingsteen and call it "The mumbling idiots tour and the retards who pay to see them because their brains are fried."

Impervious to reason.

I have one of his albums, I liked a couple of cuts on it, but for the last year he is another one I can't listen to. He's on the radio, poof, station change.

Its weird that people whose complete persona is that of the free soul, the independent thinker, the rebel, all turn out to be so completely predictable and shallow, uniformly lockstep predictable and shallow.

Since these are not great musicians in the classic sense, their whole attraction is the deeper insights supposedly embedded in the melody and lyric, to be exposed as an ignorant dork is fatal. Poof.

The thing that scares me about guys like these is the fact that stupid little punks in their twenties eat this crap up. I'm so sick and tired of these little panty-waist musicians and actors who have never worked a day in their worthless lives trying to tell a blue-collar working class dog like myself what to believe.
Perhaps if him and his ilk had to work 10 hours a day, keep the lawn mowed, keep the kids fed, and the bills paid, they would would think the same way I do.

"He represents the tiniest, tiniest percentage"

It's dumbass dave matthews who represents a tiny percentage - as will be shown in the upcoming landslide victory by Bush

You should read the article on Opinion Journal, tonight about the collapse of liberalism. It's an old article by Robert Bartley, written in 1967. It could have been written yesterday and it would not be more true or more relevant. I was thinking as I read it that I wish I had read this in sixty seven, it would have saved me a lot of trouble, trying to figure out the left.

Why do trash magazines like this seek out such idiots to express their own views? Oh, I know. Because they're trash magazines.
