[Soaring Feather]

My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and I...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Walk with me, my Dearest Friend,
upon the grass at dawn,
dewfall cooling on our feet
gliding 'cross the lawn.

Steaming cocoa in our hands,
vapors rise in greeting,
frames you as you shyly smile
"Good Morning", at our meeting.

For as we stroll upon the grass,
this quiet, healing morning,
I'll let no dark tales hither come
of love that died a-borning.

Rather, let us walk and speak
of fey-realm journeys pleasant,
Here, in our bower, just we two,
with just our friendship present.

Yup.
Afeared so.
Darksis is my little sister.
Though I have to admit that she is the better poet between the two of us.

Well.. glowing inside a crater in the backyard.
*off screen: What? Oh, oh yeah. Forgot that part..*
It was just pointed out that it was a SMOKING crater in the backyard.

Two nights of dancing wore out the ol' Colonel .. I was in bed when your invitation arrived.

Far away from prying eyes
She waits, for my eyes alone
Wrapped in white, she is patient
And I am happy.

In the way only we know,
She smiles, perfect eyes shining
Darling, you are so lovely
And I am happy.

Your words leap at me
She laughs, and says "I love you",
Written for me in her own hand
And I am happy.

"I love the man you are," she said,
"Wait for me and I'll be yours."
Now, she returns to the white wrap
And my heart breaks.

Your precious image is mine forever,
My love will always stay with you
For now, your photograph is all I possess
And my heart waits.

People always ask me,
Why I have tears in my eyes.
I'm happy don't get me wrong
But so frightened and sad
All at the same time.

You can never go back to a moment
When you were truly happy.

I have butterflies in my heart,
It beats so fast it scares me.
And though this feeling of passion
Drives my heart for more,
I'm so terribly frightened
You will take it away.

Make me swallow my heart,
That way when it flies away,
It can never be dropped and broken.

Just hold me
Let your breath warm me
Let our chests take in the air together
As one...

We Continue...

Steaming mug, and a sunrise stroll,
Sets my thoughts and mind to roll
and amble through the morning's start
to dwell on pleanstries of heart.

From the bower we shall retire,
warmth and comfort our desire,
to a sunlit, flowered lanai
with high tea waiting for you and I.

Fine bone china, tinkling crystal,
framed by hoarfrost, rose and thistle
I in cardigan, you in shawl
Darjeeling's flavor softening all.

Gentle grin, brushing fingers
traces of last night's love lingers,
Plain as sunlight for all to see,

love is balm and salve to me.
