It might be a Honda, but I dig that 2into1 pipe. I like the seat too.

Well, as cages go, I guess that sounds ok. It's still a cage though.

Here is my current toy. 2003 BMW K1200RS. Luckily I am in South Florida and can ride year round. :)

Nothing in life is as embarrassing as riding a Harley

I'll agree to that one! :)

And I was all ready to compliment your bike too....lol

I was a at drag race once, and I never will forget this biker because his nickname had to have been 2Tank, because he looked as big and strong as two tanks, about about 1/2 as smart. He was sitting on this what seemed like this dimunitive Dyna, and next to him was a guy on a Suzuki. The memorable thing was the patch on the huge guy's jacket:

It's not the race that counts but the fight at the finish line. It must have worked because the guy on the Suzuki found a false neutral between gears and lost big time.

If it redeems me any, I'm one of the few non-Harley guys who still waves at Harley riders. Whether they wave back, well that's a different story.

Wow. I don't see that at all. I'd say that easily, better than 99% of riders wave back at me, no matter what they're riding. My only arrogance is that I can't resist pulling up next a scooter (a real scooter), looking over, and saying, "Ciao." in my best Italian accent.

Down here, bikes fall into two categories. Harley's and everything else. Usually everyone waves at each other except Harley's won't wave at anything with plastics on it. I don't know if it is out of arrogance or ignorance of etiquette. Usually it comes from the weekend warriors playing dress up for the day. It ends up causing a bit of animosity.

My only arrogance is that I can't resist pulling up next a scooter (a real scooter), looking over, and saying, "Ciao." in my best Italian accent.

Having an engine 12 times bigger than theirs is enough for me. :)

That should be my bike. A 2003, taxes paid XLH-Hugger, with a wiseco 1200 conversion, slammed to the ground with 11" shocks, and sporting a whole bunch of chrome and leather.

Hope the new ones are more dependable than the vintage units.

They're supposed to be.

Love your bike. Do my eyes deceive me or are those dual disk brakes on the front?

How do you like the beemer, Killjoy? I test rode a K1100RS a while ago. It was too different from my current ride for me to fairly evaluate. It's a heavy beasty isn't it: 600 lbs or more. The Duk is only 415 lbs stock, less with carbon cans. That's a pretty big difference. Still it sure is a handsome beast. So, how do you like it?

I love it. It is a very heavy bike but that can have its advantages on the highway. I usually run with a bunch of sport bikes (GSXR-1000s, R6s, 954RRs, etc..) and I can easily keep up with them. For its size, it is rather quick. It is not going to race a GSXR-1000, but I have had it up to 145 (indicated) and it is still very stable. The big difference is when we get to where we are going, I am the only one not cramped up and complaining.

The K1100RS is a good bike. It is a little old but they are very dependable. You should be able to pick one up for a good price. The new K bike is going to be released later this year and if you hold out, I am sure the prices on the K1200RS are going to drop quite a bit once the new bike is official. Rumor is the new one is going to have about 160hp and weigh in around 500lbs. They are trying to go for the sport bike market with it. No idea what it is going to cost but since it is a BMW, it is not going to be cheap. If you do some searches on google for 'k1300rs' there are some spy shots of it online.

I want a second bike, something lighter, but can't afford it right now. Something like the new Aprilia Mille RSV, an Aprilia Tuono, or a MV Agusta F4 would be way cool. I really want a Benelli Tornado but it is way out of my league... for now. :)

Two floaters up front and one in back.

It stops.
