I've worn hand-me-downs all my life...it's never occurred to me to be bothered by that! I suppose there are SOME articles of clothing that wouldn't be right at ALL to pass on, but...

But I do like the occasional new thing, though usually it's something marked way down. But we don't have any stores that just sell older new things, so I have to shop on-line for those or keep a sharp eye out.

Sierra Trading Post is pretty good, though. The catch is that they have what they have in limited quantities and colors and sizes...so finding just the right thing can be hard. But I've gotten some very nice things from them on occasion, when the timing was right.

Hand me downs are fine, but if you don't know who's been wearing it.... that just doesn't appeal to me at all.

We have a Talbot's outlet near us. They have the nicest stuff.

A little late for Westminster, but it's the thought that counts.

I've never been to a Talbot's...wonder if they have on-line sales?

I may just be ever MORE good and not spend the money, especially as I just spent thirty bucks on a power adapter for my laptop.

But I do want to check out that store locally. May not find anything on sale / clearance that I like...but then again, I might!

Meant to mention, last night Cartoon Network showed an episode of Umi Tenjin, which I'd never seen before, along with the 5th episode of Cowboy Bebop, which was pretty cool:

SuziQ; heh, well, I suppose having each person hold a bag of groceries on their lap is out of the question? :-)

Actually the mid-size of it is one of the reasons why we liked it, I'd say more but don't want to sound like an advertisement. :-)

LSA likes it a bunch.

Hey sweetheart!

I just got home from work. I feel some better. At least I'm sitting in the den now wrapped in a quilt instead of in bed! I cut class short tonight so I could come home and rest some more though. Students didn't seem too unhappy with me for that! :-)

How was your day darlin'?

the day was fine... nothing really bad happened, at least in my office. :-)

I've been glued to the reports coming out of Iraq today. Looks like a big day over there. I know that we're inflicting many casualties... and those are coming at a high price. Just watchin' and prayin'. I guess that's all I can do for now.

I was just looking at that thread about the 12 marines we lost. Gotta pray for those other guys over there and the families. This has been a week of loss for us but I am sure we have inflicted many more than we've received. Personally, I think it's time to step up the offensive on our part. But then, I know I am not a military strategist.

I think the offensive was stepped up a few notches today.

Tipping one for some Marines just now. [sip]

I would join you for that one.

I am concerned about my guys. All the ones we send stuff too. Guess that's normal.... emotional attachment... not a bad thing, it motivates lots of prayers.

I'm concerned too. But it's days like this that really show the point where the rubber meets the road. This is going to be a very painful day when the casualties' names come in. There is knowledge though, that the casualties on the other side were an order of magnitude higher.

The spine of the enemy must be broken. Then the pain will stop. I think it may prove that today was a major step forward in that direction.

Agreed.

I think it may prove that today was a major step forward in that direction.

I hope you are right in this. I have been feeling for some time that something would have to give for us to be able to go further in wiping out these little pockets of resistance. While I know the middle eastern mindset will always have some of those enclaves we really need to make an additional assault on the hope they hold out. I am praying for that to be the case.

Would like to see us bind together as a nation and back an offensive against this. I know that is a very unrealistic hope but I pray that we see the kind of support we saw at the beginning of this was and after 9-11. Our military and leadership deserve this.
