Betty! I'd just been wondering where you've been.

I thought maybe you were down in Orlando saving your front row seat for Dubya's first campaign event on Saturday! I bet the turnout will be enormous.

Bush has a new ad up in S. Carolina criticizing Kerry's vote against the $87 billion Iraq authorization bill.

This morning's WashPost quotes the French-looking senator's response:

Mr. Kerry added, "I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it," referring to an amendment he supported that would have rescinded some tax cuts to finance the war.
Well that ought to take care of that pesky "flip-flop" image. LOL!

I didn't realize I've been gone for so long. Lots of catching up to do!

My friends and I are going to cheer for W this Saturday! I'm so excited!!!

They're expecting 12 to 15,000 so we will get there very early. :-)

How does Kerry get that crap out of his mouth without bursting into laughter? Oh yeah, twenty years of practice.

I just noticed the WashPost's lead-in to that Kerry quote:
But the Democrat -- whom Bush has criticized for taking both sides of difficult issues -- offered a less-than-crisp statement defending the nuances of his position.

"I actually did vote for his $87 billion, before I voted against it"...

Ha! Even the partisan media is finding it difficult to cover for him.

I'm so grateful for your memory, this post from the last thread is right on spot! I hope you've alerted BotW.

I saw Biden yacking the other day but had ignored him. I'll keep an eye closer on him and hillary.

Have you noticed that Chris Matthews is completely in love with Kerry? It seems as though his ambivalence toward GWB has turned into visceral hatred.

Matthews longs for the JFK days and thought Kerry would take us back to those times. Then as time passed and Chris saw what an ass Kerry really is, it's crushed his hopes of another Camelot and he's taking it out on GWB.

Have y'all seen this new surveillance tape NBC uncovered? It's from the fall of 2000, taken from a Predator aircraft, and shows bin Laden right in the crosshairs as he met with trainees at an Afghan training camp. NBC, and now other networks, include in their reports that no action was taken against OBL.

But I was really struck by TWO reports I've seen this morning on CNN. In both cases, the words "Clinton administration" were never uttered. Instead, BOTH reporters kept saying "they" didn't follow up and "the U.S." didn't authorize an attack against OBL..."they" now admit "they" missed a golden opportunity. And then a seamless transition to: "they" say it's a mistake that won't be repeated now.

Two different reporters deliberately misleading an uninformed viewer to draw the conclusion that Bush's team missed the chance and "won't make the same mistake again".

I hate MediaCrats!

Saw it last night and called up HLL quick and we watched in disbelief. There's going to be a part 2 and 3 on Olberman's show today and tomorrow.

BOTH reporters kept saying "they" didn't follow up and "the U.S." didn't authorize an attack against OBL...

Shaking my head with a disgusted look on my face!

The book 'Losing bin Laden has some specific information on that period of time, when I get a chance today I'll look it up and post it.

Yes, the more I see Biden pop up to defend Kerry and detail how unpopular Bush is with world leaders the more I'm convinced he's the conduit. I don't think the White House (or attendees at Kerry events) will let this one drop.

This may be the way to sink Kerry the fastest:

...the French are going wild for John Kerry.

His face graces the covers of magazines and newspapers on Paris newsstands. He’s the subject of radio phone-in and television talk shows. Journalists chase down distant relatives and long-forgotten acquaintances in search of anecdotes. If November’s presidential election were being held here, there’s no doubt that Mr. Kerry, the Massachusetts senator and Democratic candidate, would win by a landslide.

“People are going crazy. My phone is ringing from morning to night because everybody wants to know about Kerry,” said the head of the France chapter of Democrats Abroad, Constance Borde. “I’m even getting calls from French people asking if they can contribute to the campaign, and of course I have to tell them no.This is something I’ve never seen happening.”

“He is very much admired in France,” said a municipal office worker, Patrick Forestier, as he strolled with his lunch through the Latin Quarter. “It seems like he will be more sympathetic to Europe… .And of course anyone who is opposed to Bush will be popular with us.”

“He is the closest thing that you will have to a French politician, with a certain diplomacy, a certain elegance,” she said.“He is more like a leader would be in Europe,” Mr. Parmentier said. Asked in what way, he laughed and replied: “Well, he doesn’t look Texan.” Oh so much more

IT should surprise no one that the editorial staff at the New York Times is overwhelmingly Democratic. But now there's proof. A dissident shareholder, Michael Petrelis of San Francisco, went through Federal Election Commission files and found the names of two dozen past and present Times employees who gave to candidates. Petrelis is upset that some, like book critic Janet Maslin, apparently violated the Times code of ethics revised in January 2003 to prohibit political donations. Maslin gave $500 to Dean for America. Other recipients of Times staffers' largesse were Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer, Al Sharpton, Bill Bradley, Robert Torricelli, Marion Barry, and Al Gore. Only two Republicans received donations from Times staffers: the late Jacob Javits and congressional candidate Ed Bryant.

Times spokeswoman Catherine Mathis said almost all the contributions were made before the rules were changed. "In the few instances where this is not the case, the journalists have been reminded of the guidelines." Now the only way to tell how Times reporters will be voting is by reading their stories. As New York's junior senator, Hillary Clinton has proved herself a paragon of poise - and one of the Democrats' brightest stars. She rivals President Bush in her ability to raise cash and is frequently touted as a future President herself.

But the charismatic Clinton was not always so polished.

New York attorney Joseph Califano Jr. - a longtime Democrat powerbroker who worked for Presidents Lyndon Johnson and Jimmy Carter between stints as a corporate lawyer - remembers quite a different Hillary.

In his soon-to-be-published memoir, "Inside: A Public and Private Life," Califano recalls the first time he met the future First Lady, on July 24, 1970, during an era of protest and turmoil.

At a U.S. Senate hearing on the plight of migrant workers, Califano was representing Coca-Cola Chairman Paul Austin, whose corporate division, Minute Maid, was under fire in Florida.

"As [we] entered the Caucus Room on that steamy Washington morning, it was so jammed with spectators that many were standing and sitting on the floor," Califano writes. "Anti-establishment fervor ... was palpable in the hearing room.

"About halfway down the aisle, a young woman with dark hair and thick-rimmed glasses abruptly came in front of me and said, 'You sold out, you motherf-, you sold out!' I kept walking, pretending to ignore her."

The potty-mouthed protester was none other than Hillary Rodham.

Califano didn't take her outburst personally. Nearly three years later, he offered her a job at the bluechip Washington law firm Williams, Connolly & Califano - but she opted instead to join future hubby Bill Clinton in Arkansas.

My request for comment from Clinton was answered this way by her press secretary, Philippe Reines: "That is not consistent with the senator's recollection."

"We still haven't talked about the incident," Califano told me.

I have a feeling that's about to change.

Hillary's cussed out so many people, she just can't recall the particular epithet applied to Mr. Califano, her husband, or anyone else. Let's see, is he the "f-ing Jew bastard," the "m- f-er" or just the plain ol' SOB?

I was wondering why NBC was airing those "secret video tapes" and we might have an answer tonight.

Wednesday: What more could the Bush administration have done to get bin Laden?

I shall reserve calling the MediaCrats a bunch of low life scum sucking reprobates until I see their story.

NBC News has obtained, exclusively, extraordinary secret video, shot by the U.S. government. It illustrates an enormous opportunity the Clinton administration had to kill or capture bin Laden. Critics call it a missed opportunity.

At least NBC is admitting Bush wasn't president in 2000, when the video of Bin Laden was taken, but they'll make up for this extraordinary slipup (accidentally telling the truth, that is) in tonight's installment, I'm sure.

I swear, Kerry died two months ago and this is his animated corpse with some sort of remote control making it walk and talk.
