Well, I don't like freshmen, or frat boys, or the sorts of students who generally live near campus. I have a car, so I can live further away (probably more cheaply, for a better place).

Wow, that reminds me of a friend who used to have a pear-apple tree that put out tons. She would give me bushels of pear-apples every year and I would make preserves and cakes out of them. Sooo delicious. I have a pear-apple cake recipe she gave me too that is to die for. To make it now I use about 5 apples and 2 pears, but it isn't quite the same. You want it??

I am gonna wait till the ones still on the tree are more ripe to do anything with them. These are ~really~ green. Like "just-formed" green.

Yeah, the wild partying sorts. ;-)

No, honestly, I need as few hassles as possible... living away from campus means I'll have to worry about parking, but it should even out. But who knows, until I get there I can't really say.

Haven't bugged 'em yet. Haven't seen much of them. Need to remedy that, I guess!

Maybe I'll make them watch PoA with me this weekend and then hang out and talk afterwards. Hm...

Oh, yes, do that!

My weekend is going to be spent looking at apartment listings with my mother - we want to have a nice list made up for next week. Dad and the cool sister are going off to Hershey to meet some EverQuest friends, so it'll be a boring weekend.

Looking at possible new homes doesn't sound boring to me...

I also need to go birthday shopping. Stephen's birthday is coming up next Wednesday. He's gonna be sweet sixteen. Heheheh...

They all start looking the same after a while

*Sigh* Got stuff to send out to the farms today. I'm a chemist, not a supply clerk.

Well, no, but it gets frustrating after a while - the sites never have enough info - and truth be told I'd rather be there...

We're flying out Tuesday evening. I get to spend all afternoon at the airport because the oldest bother is going off to Florida to visit grandparents and his flight is four hours before ours. Then we're going up to Fort Collins Wednesday and Thursday to look at houses, and I'm meeting with my advisor to talk scheduling and such at some point. Friday we're going up to Vail (turns out the timing of this trip just happens to coincide with a concert by my mom's favorite singer), and flying home Saturday.

I find that rather appropriate...

As a military man, you certainly would. The woman in questing has been fussing for years about getting an 'early out' retirement package. She's been passed over because she's too good at what she does. Her fussing reached a fever pitch this winter when she started brainstorming all the wild-child crazy things she should start doing to convince management that she really *needed* to retire: Changing hair color, wearing risque clothes, coming in late, etc.

One day she started brainstorming about getting a tattoo (now, understand she's a straight-laced good Baptist farmer's wife who quilts and cans and crochets...). We managed to talk her into temporary tattoos- which is what the gag gift was... of the U.S. Army Seal. :) She loves them. And has now threatened to wear one to the funeral she's attending this afternoon.

They might still make a good cake. You just grate the apples really coursely. I've done it with less than ripe ones, but not really that less than ripe.

You know, once you get them Baptist's outta their box, there's no holdin' 'em back...
