Well lets see:

20 or 30 times in Midland in the 50's, including once when he or one of his little brothers pushed me in the pool at the Midland CC.

A couple of times when his dad ran for Congress in 66.

Once when I was on the old Alvin Van Black show at KTRH with his dad in either 68 or 70.

Once at his dads office around 70 or 71.

A couple of times when he was running for Governor.

A couple of times in 2000 when he was running for President.

I think once when his dad was giving a speech at the Houston Galleria when he was trying for the nomination in 1980. My mother, wife and I went and GHW Bush stopped us in the hall to talk for a minute after his speech and I THINK GW Bush was with him at the time.

I will see him tomorrow in Des Moines for the first time, taking my 9 year old son along, were both very excited!

That's great! Each time I've seen our President, there have been many, many kids in attendance..and it warmed my heart to see it. The thing about children is, they are innocent....yet can tell the difference between who's real and who's not. I think that's why so many kids admire President Bush.

Enjoy your day tomorrow, and take LOTS of pictures!

I've only seen him once but I got to shake his hand and speak with him briefly. I was a delegate to the Texas State Republican convention in Fort Worth the first time that G.W. ran for govenor. I knew then that he would be President one day and a good one at that. What I remember most was a video about his life, family and his beliefs. The part that made the biggest impact on me, was a portion of the video where he is in an aluminum bass boat (Bass Tracker) by himself fishing and he lands a fish and reels it in for the camera. He then pulls it up out of the water to reveal one of the smallest bass I've ever seen. He shrugs his shoulders and smiles and then releases the fish. I knew then he was not some stuffed shirt (like Kerry) but a regular guy that could connect with people. May God bless America and George W. Bush.

Man, I wish I lived in Ohio!I've never seen him live... I live in Oregon (portland of all places), and there are too too many damn liberal rioters here for him to do any public appereances....He always scheduled outer metro city private events... :( Now I'm jealous of all of you!

Well, unless they changed the 20th Amendment, it will be Jan 20th. :-}

I should have known that, I guess! I have always watched on TV, but never paid attention to the date.

Since my kids are now grown, I've just recently become a serious Conservative political activist, thanks to FR. My son and daughter, and son-in-law love the fact that Mom has found her niche during her "golden years"...LOL

Three times in three weeks. Shook hands with President Bush twice.

He is much more serious. The Presidency has aged him . . . . for good and bad. It's a horrid job, I believe.
