Where's Wonder Woman?

We'be had Superman, Batman, Spider Man, and now we're ready to cycle back to Superman again. 4 Superman sequels, 4 Batman sequels, and a 2nd Super Man sequel is coming. Meanwhile, there's been movied based on the X-Men, Men in Black, the Incredible Hulk, Tarzan, Dick Tracy, Daredevil, Teen-Age[d] Mutant Ninja Turtles, Blade, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Hellboy, The Crow, The Rocketeer, Mystery Men, Richie Rich, The Shadow, Time Cop, Catwoman, Judge Dredd, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Supergirl, Tank Girl, Gost World, Casper the freindly Ghost, Scoobey Doo, Sheena and even Josey and the frickin' Pussycats.
Ummm... No Wonder Woman movie? ever? I mean, how do Howard the Duck, Spawn and Barb Wire get movies before Wonder Woman?
If I remember right, Wonder Woman was basically an agent of the U.S. Military from the smallest member of what would now be called, "The Coalition of the Willing." I mean, is that is? Come to think of it, G.I Joe never had his own movie, although G.I. Joe is not exactly up there in Pantheon of Super Heroes.
But let's face it, the big three classic comic book heroes are Superman, Batman, Spider Man,... and Wonder Woman, aren't they? And the other three have each spawned uber-blockbusters. Why wouldn't Wonder-woman? Just because Hollywood can't possibly make a movie where the U.S. military isn't the bad guys?
(I just watched "Splash" again this afternoon, and the U.S. military are the bad guys in a novie about a mermaid falling in love with a Manhattanite. How does that happen?)
Of course, we'd need to cast who would be good to play Wonder-woman. About 5 years ago, Demi Moore would've been perfect, even though I don't like her.

Gellar and Carpenter Battle Over 'Wonder Woman'?
December 17, 2004
From ContactMusic.com:
Ex-BUFFY stars SARAH MICHELLE GELLAR and CHARISMA CARPENTER are allegedly competing for the lead role in forthcoming superhero movie WONDER WOMAN.
The actresses - who played BUFFY SUMMERS and CORDELIA CHASE in the hit TV series - are battling for the iconic role after their former boss, JOSS WHEDON, agreed to direct the movie remake of the 70s television show, reports British newspaper the DAILY RECORD.
An insider says, "Joss has told the studio that Sarah is his first choice followed by Charisma. Sarah expressed an interest, but the producers are more interested in Charisma because she is less well known."

No Wonder Woman movie? It'd involve cleavage and the feminazis would just frickin' flip over an Amazonian being turned into a sex kitten.

Our local movie reviewer said yesterday that Minnie Driver (British and 34 yrs old) is also busily promoting herself for the role.

Liv Tyler would be the perfect Wonder Woman. She'd have to drop a few pounds, but I think she has the sweetness and iron to be Wonder Woman.

I think the woman super hero thing does not go over well because its very hard to suspend disbelief enough to accept feats of strength from actresses with arms no thicker than your wrist.
If they found the right actress, who is both good looking and strongly built it would be believable. Someone with a Marion Jones body. This might also encourage our daughters to get off the phone and actually take some exercise which couldn't hurt.

Prediction1: Somebody divert the discussion to the topic of Steroids
Prediction2: Lots of insecure males will jump in saying the find Buff Women disgusting and unattractive.

Cheesy as the series was, I wouldn't see a Wonder Woman movie for the sole reason that I know there isn't a woman on the planet who could fill the role after Carter.

I just disagree with you. SpiderMan wasn't ultra buff, so why would a woman have to be? She should be strong looking, but I think a lot of actresses could beef up for the role, enough. (Sarah Michelle Gellar and and Christian Carpenter would need to bulk up a little.)
But consider Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Catwoman, Electra and the female half of the X-"Men" and all the other female Super-hero comic book heroes.

Tidbit from IMDB bio of Linda Carter:
When asked, during her on-line Lens Express chat on November 8th, 1999, who she would like to portray Wonder Woman in a big screen movie version, she stated that she would prefer either actress Catherine Zeta-Jones or supermodel Cindy Crawford.
