For all of us who could not be there in person I've put together some great pics (along with some great music to go with them) of our First Couple enjoying themselves. (click on the each of the 3 song titles to listen to the music)

Ah, now that's nice.

A soothing balm after yesterday's nightmare-making picture.

Some pundit said there hasn't been a first lady as popular as Laura since Jackie O. and I'll add she gets more beautiful with age.

I heard the same from a friend of mine today (regarding Laura's popularity). Laura really does get more beautiful every year... I wonder what her secret is. She looked radiant throughout all of the Inaugural events, but looked particularly stunning in that white ballgown.

Thanks so much for pinging me to this wonderful thread! :o)

Thank you so much for giving us those lyrics.

Peggy Noonan redeemed herself only somewhat the other night when she said that all of Washington was talking about the First Lady and how she has grown more beautiful with age.

I appreciate the ping. The photos of the President and Mrs. Bush on the Great Seal are lovely.

I caught a few minutes of the Bush's dancing the other evening. One thing was clear. The President is a much better dancer than I.

If you saw Laura and him dancing, you'll catch the humor in that.

I'm not trying to start an argument with you, but remember that the 'Presidential Seal' is on the floor of the Oval Office. As such, it is walked on frequently. If it were deemed to be something as sacrisanct as the Flag of the United States, it would be an insult in and of itself, for it to be used as a flooring decoration.

I would submit that the Presidential Seal becomes the President's emblem for his term. I do not find it disrespectful for a President to do respectful things with it. Dancing with your wife on the emblem of your office, does not show disrespect for the emblem, IMO. Dancing with your wife, showing her love and affection, is an honorable thing.

If the President were to conduct himself in a despicable manor, on the seal, I would agree that it was an act of disrespect, which I would frown on.

The President is the head of state. I personally found it appealing to see the President and his wife dancing on the emblem that signifies the President's station. I may be wrong, but I did not see this as disrespectful.

LOL..Dancing is definitely not one of W's strong points! The Cheney's are dancers...

Laura and W looked wonderful together, though. I enjoyed the pictures..rewatched the whole inauguration today.

Dancing is downright painful for me. I don't do it well. I have never aspired to do it well. I don't enjoy it. Fortunately my second wife feels the same way.

I've played baseball for decades, football, tennis, body surfed... a lot of things that require coordination. When it comes to dancing, I have six left feet.

I could certainly identify with the President as I saw him rocking through the motions. I've had that same 'green' look on my mug more times than I'd care to remember.

He stood up well under the call for him to go through the motions. I thought he and Laura looked quite lovely together. It made you realize that they love each other, and most likely reminded marrieds, that they have someone in their lives that they also love very much.

I do believe there may have been a few moments during the Clinton years, when they looked at each other recalling the spark that once brought them together. With the Bushes, you get the feeling they are in love each and every day.

I like that.
