*New* The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*
Free Republic has a lot of horse people that have found each other on other threads . And since we all like to talk horses, how about a thread where it is not off-topic, but is THE topic?
This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

The FreeRepublic Saddle Club thread - Thread THREE!
New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
All the ones I have seen do. But Belle did stand up with Dot halfway out:), it was kind of scary. But then she laid back down and finished.
I bet that was scary!
I have to go and get MIL and FIL ready for bed, so inbetween looking out the window, i will be busy for 30 mins. I will be back on here soon.
I've been to the Equine Affaire in Springfield Ma loads of times. I absolutely love it. Haven't been able to go for a couple of years though. Do you know if it's already come to Ma?
No worries! Everyone has to learn, and what better place where you can voice your concerns? Certainly no one thinks the worse of you for it. :-) We just want everything to turn out ok!
Ran across this great page of 'in the act' foaling pics....
Put me down for a tenative April 15th 2007:')
I've got one due in April. My mare Truly. And Bluebell's due in May. So we've got this to look forward to every month for a while.
I'm shooting for 11:45, just a few minutes before I get home.
Wow! Great pictures! I'd love to see one actually born. I've always just found them a few hours old. But I guess it's easier on the nerves that way.
Well, they seem to have had the luck of two day-time births... Most don't get a chance like that for good pics... just grainy ones taken in the dark. Did you see the high res version of the first mare, with the cat trotting across the paddock? ;~D
Oh now, don't be mean...You'll have Sharn meeting you at the door with a rolling pin in her hand.
No I didn't. I'll have to go back and look...
Or the water she's been boiling all night ;~D
I'll be happy with a rolling pin. That's one weapon she's not proficient with. : ' } (That comment, by the way, will get me into more trouble than I'm already in.)
How funny! I didn't notice the man in the background either. I guess I was just so focused on the horse I didn't pay any attention to anything else.
Is the barn ready for you to sleep in? ;~D
Yeahbuddy, You've done done it now. Shoulda stopped while you were behind...
my sons 8th birthday!
Hey! I did post some pics! Remember the "tire"! Do you want me to find it again?
I meant live action shots during labor! If I had a foal here, you ~know~ you'd see the pics within minutes. ;~D
Groan.............u are on about pics already? LOL I do have the camera ready, and will be in CVS as soon as it opens after the foal has been born....I promise!
If you're going to take a beating, might as well earn it!
OK - as soon as it's born... I guess you can't be flashing bulbs at her now...
But a live cam would be good for the next one... maybe duchess can do that for us ;~D
this is emma, sugar has just had it.
Boy, that mare was walking around with the poor little bugger hanging half way out then sits down, but it doesn't look like it hurt him any. I had a hard time trying to figure out if that was the placenta he was laying on or a white towel. Could you see it any better?
Wow cool! Thanks emma!
WHAT?!?! YOU MEAN THE BABY, SHE HAD THE BABY? NOW?
You better go home! She may forget about the rolling pin remark!
I think that was a daughter-type person posting for her!
We appreciate the news! Everything look good? four toes and everything?
don't know. I'm hoping it has four legs though.
It's a towel... I stared at that too.
Well I'll be dawg. Duchess got it right. She said 9pm eastern. So what if it was 10, she was closer'n anybody else. We'll have to start calling her The Horse Psychic.
Very exciting! Have you kids been down there to see real quiet or are you all watching from the porch?
Sugar may rest a few minutes before getting up... good to rub the baby with towels if it's cold out... if mom doesn't mind the help.
I figured a baby might get my mind off taxes:')
This is Sharn..............."it" is doing ok, nose oout of sack and moving. That was my 10 year old posting for me after very quick lesson. She laid down, then when she went to stand up, she had it! Amazing. I got to see him/her slide out! I've taken lots of pics and yes to Emma it has 4 legs. I am shaking so excuse spelling!
No criticism here! That was fine reporting by both you and Emma!
Its warm out and boys are asleep but Emma is donning jeans right now!
Im going back to check after birth
shaking shaking shaking
Is momma back up already and tending?
Well if I do decide to breed SL you can rest assured the baby will be brushing his nose on the lens as he comes out:')
How lovely! I'm so happy for you! What color is it? Is it a colt or a filly?
Shake a little for me too coz I can't be still.
Hi Emma. She had it? :') Can you see her?
