OK, time is up. Nominations are closed. Time to count the votes and announce winners. Just a reminder, there is no cash awarded, no sparkling trophies, and no plaques. Your only prize is a hearty handshake, a pat on the back, and the warm glow of victory.

MEOW --- If you didn't win, start complaining. Better yet, post your own picture and declare your pet the winner in whatever category (start a new one if necessary) you wish.
My favorite, although they all get awards, is best stare down.
I like the staredown too, because they both look so soft and cuddly.
I got in the middle of my two soft and cuddly kitties in a stare down two days ago. I have the marks to prove it.
LOL
Gotta love the stare down one. That's priceless.
Come to think of it, I also nominate her for Best Analysis of Michael Moore.

Kitty Ping List alert!
[Freepmail me to get on or off the Kitty Ping List.]

Hoggin' the heat from the vent.
Looks like my cat Luca Brazzi. What a pretty cat.
Thanks! She knows she's cute. And she is sooooo spoiled.
I have four spoiled catsssssssssssssssssssss. They drive me nuts. I also have a cat on my deck that I feed. I always say I would have so much less work if I never got involved with all these animals. But I am just a sucker.
We have three spoiled cats, and two of them were strays that found their way to our door. Couldn't leave them to the mercy of the elements and traffic, so we took them in. The one in the pic I posted showed up when she was really tiny - maybe 2 months old. It took us a couple of months to get her tamed down a bit, then we trapped her, took her to the vet and had her spayed and vaccinated. She's around 10 now, and is a wonderful companion.
Oh she looks great for 10. I have my oldest he is 13. We adopted him the year we were married. The next thing I know I have tons of strays on my deck. It took a few years to get the kitten thing under control. I took three of them for myself and had the mother (luca) fixed finally after 22 kittens in two years. Yikes. She hates me I think because I took her sex life away. She just does not appreciated what we did for her! My male cats of much more loving. When they all go to heaven I need new couches! LOL

Georgio gets my nomination for the Best Eyes Award. Are they as purple as they look in this picture? What beauties!
LOL! My Crystal agrees entirely, as do I.
The photo is untouched....that's the real color. He has a sweet disposition for a Siamese. He's very smart and will do several tricks for a treat!
He had a tough kittenhood in a household of over 100 cats which were rescued after neighbors complained. We were told that he had survived many feline illnesses when we adopted him from a Shelter.
Cats can always tell when something's rotten.
Yipes! I'm glad he was rescued.
You're braver than I am. When my Dulcie and Finbar have staredowns, they're usually followed by some rather appalling language they fling at each other.
And I love the name "Dammit." As a teenager, I named my first car "Dammit."
(Dulcie and Finbar are calling lawyers and demanding a recount. They're particularly questioning the decision from the Ohio judges in this contest....what can ya do?)
Pretty kitty....and he has a cool name. :-)
He was born in Nov. 2000....and being big Bush supporters....we decided to choose that name.
BTW...he has a 'Capitol Hillary' toy and loves to chew her ankles......LOL

CAT HAIKU
Curled up under the
Heat Vent. House is warm and dark.

A mole peeks up from
the ground. I spring through the air.

Laps are my true throne.
When you sit down. You urge me
To leap and relax.
The Carpal Guard feels
So good. Makes me want to play
Kitten On The keys!
Dust Bunnies forming
Up under the couch. Time for
A Ninja Attack!
In my sunny spot.
Feeling the delicious warm
On my deep striped fur.
Curled up on The Big
One's belly. Up and down so
Slow as he snores.
Little Loud One crawls
Like me. Chasing my tail while
Drooling like a dog.
Love Big Pretty One's
Chest of drawers. So silky soft
inside. Smells so good!
Big Pretty One is mad!
She thinks that her high heeled shoes
Are not my chew toys!
Jack.
*L* Good collection!
Love it! Our cat is named Cheney, and we've had many compliments on his name. (Obviously, we live in a red state.)
I think the second cat is dazed since he can't think of a word for the day. ROFLOL.

"They like me - they *really* like me!" (a la Sally Field)
My Simba always hisses at my MIL! LOL
What happened to the kitty's paw ???
I couldn't enter my cat in the contest.....too much attitude.

Maybe Georgio could sweet talk my cat, Julie? He is my godson. LOL
Cute thread, PetroniDE, lots of fun!
Love your haikus
Please add me to the kitty humor list. Thank you!
He needs to chill out like Georgio:
Wonderful 'CAT HAIKU'....thanks, Jack!
((((((Louie))))))) and ((((((Julie)))))))
A cat is simply not a cat unless s/he has an *attitude* so there's nothing wrong with your kitty, Wolfie - LOL!
Georgio is a handsome boy, for sure. Maybe he and Sylvie need to be "fixed-up."
;-)
Sorry.....they can't be 'fixed-up' because Georgio is already 'fixed'.....if you get my drift.....LOL
The Shelter had him 'fixed' the day before we adopted him.
Your sleeping kitty looks like my husband sleeping watching tv
That is a fabulous cat! I love him. He has a fighting Dude look about him.
Sylvie is fixed, too - but they could *dream* together - LOL!
