Is the 'My Forums' page broken?

See for yourself:

My Forums

TOPICS: Focus Software; Free Republic Policy/Q&A

Someone asked me how to subscribe to a Topic and have it appear in the sidebar. This is when I discovered the My Forums page has no content.

Oh, and yes, I am logged in.

Okay, well, given the response, I guess maybe it was designed to work like that. ;^)

I'm not sure that the "My Forums" feature has ever been activated by John. Mine is blank too. To subscribe to a new forum go to "My Subscriptions".

A side note, I now have the "poll results" at the top of my sidebar menu rather than at the bottom where they used to appear. This is a recent development and I'm wondering if it is something quirky to my browser, or if others are experiencing the same? It pushes down my actual sidebar menu with "breaking news" etc. Just an irritation..and a curiosity if I am alone in having this occur.

To subscribe to a new forum go to "My Subscriptions".

Please check again. That's where I can UNsubscribe and change the order and number of messages in the sidebar. But, ADD a subscription? Not there.

My apologies. I thought all the forums were listed there...and you check or uncheck to subscribe or unsubscribe to desired forums.

But I see now, that forums that I do not subscribe to (ie. Bloggers and Personal) are not listed on my subscription page. Initially, I remember, you could go to a specific forum, and IIRC you were told that you did not subscribe to that forum and were given the opportunity to subscribe. But I see that is not the case now. I can still access that forum as it is listed in the "Browse by Forum" at the top of my sidebar. So perhaps certain Forums no longer require subscription?

I'm stumped now too. NOT that hard to do, in my case, LOL.

The reason I stumbled onto the problem and posted this thread is because a fellow Iowan wanted to know how to add the Iowa TOPIC to his sidebar. It apparently can't be done. That's the real issue here. Anyone who wants to subscribe to a State topic is outta luck. That's a shame because I find it very handy to keep an eye on news of state and local interest.
