Australian Scientist Disputes 'Hobbit' Findings (Stop evolution lies - petition)

An Australian academic who has examined the skeletal remains of a three-foot hominid discovered in an Indonesian cave and nicknamed a "hobbit" disputed Friday a report that they represent a new species of human.

Professor Maciej Henneberg, head of anatomy at Adelaide University, said he thought the bones found in 2003 on Indonesia's Flores island were simply those of a normal human stunted by a viral disease, microcephaly -- a conclusion rejected in the earlier report by another team of scientists.

That team analyzed the find and said the partial skeleton was evidence of a new, dwarf species of human. Their conclusion was reported on Science Express, the online edition of the U.S. journal Science.

Henneberg spent several days in Jakarta last month helping to document the bones estimated to be 18,000 years old.

"I had time to thoroughly inspect the bones of the skeleton," Henneberg said.

"This skeleton is not a skeleton of a healthy, normal individual. I am simply saying this is a human being who suffered from a growth disorder," he said.

Scientists nicknamed the skeleton "the Hobbit" after the diminutive title character of a book by fantasy writer J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings.

The Hobbit was one of seven skeletons, which scientists date in a range of 95,000 to 12,000 years old, dug up in different layers of earth in the Flores cave.

The discovery has excited anthropologists, who had believed that, after the extinction of Neanderthals 30,000 years ago, Homo sapiens was the only extant human species.

A member of the original team that discovered the group termed Homo floresiensis, Professor Richard Roberts, hailed the findings of the U.S. report, saying the evidence proved that this was the brain of a different species of human despite being only "the size of a grapefruit."

"This person has an extremely small brain but it was extremely well wired," he said. This enabled the small people to conduct ocean crossings and develop sophisticated stone tools, said Roberts, of the University of Wollongong, near Sydney.

He said the findings debunked the theory that modern humans developed simultaneously around the world, a theory known as multi-regional evolution.

Is there a limit to the extent of forgeries to try to save desperately the big lie evolution?
Statiscally there's only one possibility for these "findings": a skeleton of someone who suffered of microcephaly was aged and buried into that cave.
If you think there is, sign this petition to allow exposing these frauds in school.
If you think threisn't please don't replay in this thread, to keep it as a petition.

"He said the findings debunked the theory that modern humans developed simultaneously around the world, a theory known as multi-regional evolution."

this doesn't say "he said the findings debunked the theory of evolution."

This just means that there was probably one push out of Africa of nearly fully evolved humans instead of humans evolving in various parts of the world simultaneously.

i'm not replaying, i'm just replying :)

"This person has an extremely small brain but it was extremely well wired," he said.

Yeah, I am sure there was a lot of brain to study in a skull thousands of years old. Nice a fresh too, so you could examine the nurons. Some people are so desperate to hide from God, they will stick their heads in any bucket and name it science.

It's just like the Dan Rather report. They want to believe it so badly that they are blinded by their own prejudices.

...The Hobbit was one of seven skeletons...

ALL with micro-encyphlic disorder. Apparently, the Dr. sniffed a little too much ether.

... the big lie evolution?

And so, apparently, did you...out of your tinfoil hat.

Must be quite taxing, keeping all those biological scientists/conspirators in line. The bribery alone must run into the trillions.

i think it's more ridiculous to call evolution a LIE...it's a theory, quite simple.

i believe it's something that should definitely be looked into. but to suddenly dismiss whatever work went into these observations based on the findings of ONE scientist -- i mean, c'mon. you say THEY'RE trying desperately?

A lot of people would rather believe in Extra terrestrial flying objects rather than planes. Seems to be a similar case here.

Yeah, I am sure there was a lot of brain to study in a skull thousands of years old.

A legible chunk of a skull tells you quite a bit, actually, it tells you how highly creviced and folded the brain is, and approximately what percentage is hippocampus/thalamus/hypothalamus-related vs. higher functions.

To whom will you submit this supposed petition? The founding fathers? This is not a question that will be resolved by majority vote. Letting voters tell science what it thinks is like asking pigs what to put in the pig trough.

I thought that I din't had to explain those details of the forgery, but since you raised the "other six skeletons" issue, I will:

1. a skeleton of someone who suffered of microcephaly was aged and buried into that cave.

2. Six other skeletons (normal) were buried also there, in  different layers of earth. This is part of the deception base technique, SUGGESTION.

Not a word about the seven skeletons in your story. Why? I just explained it in my previous post: as the findings are announced the public is the average idiot; as the findings are "discussed" the public is people like, scientific spirits.

Had you pursued blam's ref. with a little more vigor, you might have found this:

Falk and researchers from Washington University in St. Louis took three-dimensional CT scans of the interior of the Hobbit's skull. Known as virtual endocasts, these computer-manipulated images show the wrinkles, vessels and other surface features that made faint impressions on the skull's lining.

They compared that model with latex casts of the brains of chimps, a female Homo erectus, a contemporary woman, a pygmy and a European specimen of a person with a small-brain syndrome known as microcephaly.

"Falk and researchers from Washington University in St. Louis" don't have the same opinion as the head of anatomy at Adelaide University.
BTW, I express my admiration for his courage. Keep in mind that teachers exposing the evolution lies must expect loosing their job.

No, not NORMAL, Brown reported that ALL the remains his team found showed signs of diminutive stature.

For the scientific spirits it was just announced that "they were dated in a range of 95,000 to 12,000 years old, dug up in different layers of earth". So it was clear that in case the question appeared: are the other six skeletons also "hobbits" the answer would be "no".

So...what that demonstrates, since, in fact, they were ALL of diminutive stature, is that the diminuitive stature was not a temporal fluke.

Which makes you now, 0 for 3 in the guessing department. I recommend you take two aspirin, and try again in the morning when you are feeling less convinced that the entire world of science is consipiring against your God-given theories about the universe.

Uh huh. Just as teachers of the astrological theory of astronomy can be expected to lose their jobs, in institutions that would like to keep their reputations and accreditations, and to produce science graduates that can conduct actual science.

The whole story is about the brain of one skeleton, the one that this brave professor examined.
There's no issue about the other six, it's an equatorial rain forest environment, where God placed the small people of the world (pygmy races).
Of course staging it with six other skeletons was just one part of the suggestion technique. The other was that they were pygmies.
This is the reason why the forgery was at that location - guess what the other candidate location to have placed the microcephaly patient's skull was...
