Art Bell commented last night that in the absence of a written notarized will the decision should be in favor of life. Should be obvious.

Some commentator on Fox just claimed there was nothing political about Shays' 'NO' vote and praised him as being "very independent." Yeah, right. Not political at all - just a wimpy RINO pandering to his liberal constituency.
Look, on a hot-button issue like this, there is politics everywhere. That is part of living in a democracy. The issue is not the politics, the issue is what is right.

I like the way the left says Terri doesn'tt want to be kept alive because her husband says she told him so therefore, we must respect her wishes, even though we dont know if she said that or if she changed her mind at some point.
My question is, how does that different from when democrats say one thing one day and something different on another. Should we take them at their word the first time?
Also watching people like Conyers and the rest of the black caucus last night, they were complaining about black issues. They turned everything to reflect all the blacks whining complaints. Tell me that isn't playing politics.

Shays was in the "Peace Corps" in a primitive 3rd world area.
I guess he did not solve their problems so he came back to tap your bank accounts at the point of a gun.

Any theories as what Shays meant when he whined about "all the people around the world we don't seem to care about"?

Wow - is Shays authoring a bill to stop treating dysentery, too?

I think what he's saying is that we are evil for having a healthcare system and a form of government that provides a way for tragedy to be averted.

The issue is not the politics, the issue is what is right. There you go. Do we starve to death people who are not suffering from a terminal illness (or ever, for that matter), or do we not.

I wonder if he had anything in particular in mind, or was just trying to spew out some sensitive-sounding bilge that would sound good to the liberals back in his district?

Kill Terri, say the Democrats.
But they don't want convicted murderers executed, they cry when America's enemies are killed in battle, they don't want any animals killed. . . .
They are Democrats, the D is for death for ordinary Americans, rats is obvious.

If Terri had made her wishes clear to have a feeding tube removed under these circumstances, I think those wishes could be honored. But I think the case is entitled to federal review when there is very dubious evidence as to her wishes and reason to believe the husband has ulterior motives.

Any theories as what Shays meant when he whined about "all the people around the world we don't seem to care about"?Oops, just saw this question, governs. I'm not trying to pester you with responses. I think Shays is relying upon the same false argument that some used against the Iraq war. There are dictatorships all over, so, if we do not take them all out, we are being hypocritical by just going to war with one. We can't care about saving one life from death by starvation unless we save all. Bunkum!

Shays was in the "Peace Corps" in a primitive 3rd world area. Shays was a teacher in Fiji in the late 60's - early 70's.
His real name is Mr. Whimpy.
