This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Beaker's probably a little young to be having these kinds of problems, but like you say, the nutrition part would be helpful to anybody.
WEll, I think it's back to trails, and lots of slow work for a month or so for all of them.

The two year old looks great.
Nothing about shaking, just not to pack. I was worried about 5 more doses. I just scooped it and tapped the scoop to level it. It was 1 scoop for 440 pds. We gave him 3. The vet didn't send any directions. Probably 2 scoops and and half will work but we gave him a little bit of a loading dose since he hadn't had any antibiotic tonight. He's not 1320 (3) but I think he's over 1100 (2 1/2)
more his wt . We are going to make sure we can get 5 more doses by dividing it in baggies.
Can horses eat peanut butter? I don't give it to my dog because she has a hard time eating it.
My vet told me to just turn it upside down a time or two before opening it each time.
Gotcha. Thanks. My vet going to revac Sarah Lee and Okie 10 days after he finishes his antibiotic and them vac the again in one month. He said after that, yearly should be ok.
Well they are safe and sound. Hungry though...LOL
Sounds like a good idea with them both living in a boarding barn like they do. It's kinda like kids in school. When one comes down with something, they ALL come down with it.
