Is Google Mocking Terri Schiavo's Fight to Live?
Google ^

Take a look at Google's web site graphic (shown below):
TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: dehydration; google; schiavo; terri; terrischiavo; water
Is Google Mocking Terri Schiavo's fight to Live with it's graphic, which is linked to a search on
"World Water Day"?
After all who celibrates World Water Day anyway?
The irony is that this might draw more attention and sympathy to Terri Schiavo's forced dehydration. Even loony liberals might realize how horable it is to die from dehydration by seeing this cartoon graphic.

That's a bit of a stretch. Perhaps you should spend a few days away from the news/computer. Read a book or something. :-)

Despite it being almost entirely run by people who gave to the Democratic Party, I believe the graphic is for the legitimate "World Water Day."
I wouldn't read too much into Terry's case with that graphic.
To: anymouse
Just ignore them as no this has nothing to do with Terri Schiavo. They always have some stupid obscure international leftist bs days.
To: KoRn
ditto to that. The world doesn't revolve around Terri.

I checked for the name of the graphic -- it is called
water_day05I'd say it could be some sort of comment on Terri -- not necessarily mocking her, though.

In the Google search box, type in "World Water Day". It has been observed by UNESCO since 1992. I didn't know that until tonight, but it's true. Any bets on whether they have a cross on Good Friday? I doubt it!

If you click on the Google Link when they change it, you'll find out why. I can only imagine the horror from Linux Penguins when 3 polar bears are decorating the word Google for Christmas every year.

Best darn search engine ever was. Politics suck! But good/great search engine. I use no other. And the graphic? Poor Terri Shiavo's plight was not lost in back room banter when the world water day thing came up I am sure that bunch yucked it up a bit.

Too bad some FReepers care more about mocking each other than helping fight for Terri's life.

Honestly, if I was in Terri Schiavo's position - as a vegetable - I would NOT want to be kept alive. I've even commented to a number of my friends to not let me live longer than a year or two if I ended up as a vegetable because after that there really wouldn't be any point. I wouldn't outright say Terri should die like "whitesanjuro" because that is rather immature and heartless, but I think she's beyond repair and I tend to agree with those with doctorates who say she's no longer conscious within that body.
Google is a very large company, that is very successful, and very popular. I highly doubt they would post the image for World Water Day based off of the Schiavo case. I am sure each employee of Google has their own beliefs on what should happen to Terri. I'm also pretty sure there are a number of google employees who have some say over the image that is placed on the front page of their site for millions upon millions of visitors to see each day. The chances of it being an image geared torwards Terri mockingly making it to the front page is impossibly slim because Google is not a company to mock the shortcomings of others. It was indeed World Water Day and Google is known to point out international holidays such as that with customized images on their search page, so it wasn't unexpected they would come up with an image for World Water Day.
I sure hope people would stop taking this whole case to the extremes like they are... Its turning so many people into flamers and idiots. The Schiavo family is having a hard time with this choice I am sure, especially her husband. I think it should be a matter left solely to the family and everyone else should just shut up about it and stop putting it to the front page. I'm sure her husband and anyone connected with this case would appreciate some privacy. Put yourself in their positions.
