(Vanity) Fox & Friends Still Touting Phony Schiavo Poll Numbers; Ghoulish Ratner; a Coming Backlash?

Despite evidence that the ABC poll on Terri Schiavo used misleading statements to push people toward certain responses, there was Juliet Huddy on Fox & Friends Weekend this morning parroting the poll results that ostensibly show that three quarters of Americans oppose Congress' involvement and believe those supporting the legislation were politically motivated.

Huddy offered the poll results as fodder to Jim Pinkerton and the noisome Ellen Ratner during their "The Long and the Short of It" segment.

As she did last week, Ratner managed to keep a hideously inappropriate smile on her face throughout the segment. She rejected Pinkerton's notion that, having known Jeb Bush for twenty years and knowing him to be a devout Catholic, he had no doubt as to his sincerity in this matter.

Speaking of Republicans, Ratner went on to gloat: "they overreached. They made a political gamble and they lost."

Ratner condemned those Democrats who supported the congressional legislaton as "milquetoasty people."

The most interesting statement, IMO, came from Pinkerton, expressing something that has been on my mind.

He predicted: "If a week from today we're back here and Terri has died due to the actions of her husband and a bunch of ACLU lawyers, there will be a backlash, and the politics of this will look very different."

Ratner predictably cawed "you could not be more wrong!"

We can take comfort from the fact that she was wrong about every political prediction she made over the last year.

Ratner graduated from the Susan Estrogen School of Public Relations. Both of them put my television in peril everytime they appear. Can Ratner not allow anyone to finish a sentence without interrupting them with her "cawing"? (I really like that description, governs.)

This is basically my point of view - I think a lot of people who have sided with death are going to have much remorse after Terri actually dies. That will create a backlash against the Deathocrats and the tyrannical judiciary.

This case will have reverberations, IMO, and whenever the ACLU is in the press defending mass murderers and child molesters from the death penalty, the arguement will be, but it was ok to the ACLU for an innocent Terri Schiavo to die of starvation and you didn't lift a finger.

Remember that Clinton had so called "high poll numbers", but is now considered a corrupt joke.

The press did their best to manipulate public opinion, but the issue of euthanasia(murder) is out there, and people as they contemplate this case more will see the dark and sinister sides of it, IMO.

"Cawed" is a particularly apt word to describe Ratner's odious delight and voice that fighting for an innocent's chance to live and Terri's fate are but a Republican political error. Her gloating is shameful.

Since I've often been very critical of Julian Phillips on these threads, fairness compels me to observe that, while not expressing strong opinions one way or another, he appears sympathetic to the position of the Schindler's.

By the way, the Catholic brother who serves as the Schindlers' spiritual advisor just made a very strong statement regarding Jeb Bush, to the effect that he doesn't know how Jeb could look the Schindlers in the face after failing to use the power he has to save Terri, adding that Jeb will ultimately be accountable "to another Judge."

Not only did the ACLU not lift a finger, but they applaud this action by Felos, Schiavo, and Greer. They have not stood by silently.

The polls numbers will dropped as time goes on when more Americans come to understand more of the circumstances surrounding Terri's case.

Did anyone see David Aronberg on Hannity last night? Saying that not one single Republican, from Tom Delay to Jeb Bush, was doing anything because they really cared for Terri, but it was all purely for political gain, and he found that "disgusting".

I actually yelled profanity at my T.V. and wanted to throw something at his ugly mug.

And it is opinion, pure opinion, that THE JUDGE would think one way or another of Jeb Bush.

Maybe THE JUDGE says, "Hands off, let her go and come to me."

Maybe THE JUDGE is more perturbed with the "PRO LIFERS" who don't seem to realize eternal life is waiting for Terri upon release from her earthly bound body.

I was simply quoting the brother and don't presume to say how God will judge Jeb Bush.

I would say, however, that most pro-lifers surely believe that heaven awaits Terri, but are opposed to what they see as her husband's efforts to prematurely end her stay on earth.

I wrote to that Florida Senator Aronberg and I can tell you he refused flat out to answer the question of conscience from Hannity.

Just refused to answer the question. Then he went on trying to pass the buck and Hannity wouldn't let him. He looked like he was a rat squirming.

Although he tried to mouth his sympathy for the family, you could see there was none.

I get an email from prophecy update every day and today it was talking about how close we have come to how Hitler started in Germany. It says that first they made a law that it was ok to kill babies and young children who were disabled. Then that is the law Hitler used to exterminate the Jews. Frightening!

It seemed as though you were ascribing to "the brother's" view when you 'quoted' him. Do you agree that God will judge Jeb as "the brother" indicates God would?


If the feeding tube has pre-empted Terri's release from earth, would it be less an act of 'murder' or 'purposeful starvation'?

And, is it possible that 'pro-lifers' might believe in encouraging people NOT to abort, as well as 'release' from medical interventions (including extended use feeding tubes)?

I, for one, am against abortion (yet accept it as an individual 'right' to choose), yet I am against the *absolute* extension of life here on earth by *all* medical interventions possible. I believe those medical interventions should be by choice, and NEVER should legislative bodies intervene.

With due respect, for a self-proclaimed "thinking man" I find your questions/arguments to be expressed in a confusing manner.

I sincerely do not have an opinion on the judgment of Jeb. If anything, I would tend to understand his decision not to contravene court orders.

Thinking can be confusing, can it not?

Have you researched? Have you determined accuracy, bias, intent, audience when you read to conclude?

You stated an opinion of a priest and appeared to ascribe to it as your own opinion.

Should people condemn others? Such vitriolic hatred of the judges, courts, governors, and Michael Shiavo has been expressed by those who profess life. People who profess choosing life are telling people that those who oppose them deserve death.

God said, "Vengeance is mine."

When we assume anger for (and against) another person, we are not without sin.

I have long thought that there is a political/cultural Civil War going on in this country--only today it's not North against South, it's Red against Blue. I find myself disliking people I don't even know because they have Kerry/Edwards stickers plastered on their cars--I immediately say to myself "Liberal Idiots." Friends that start spouting their Liberal garbage at dinner parties make me question my liking them. The media talks about the split in our country. Well, in my opinion, we are in a political/cultural Civil War fueled by the MSM.

I'm resigned at this point to looking for what greater good can come from the cruel and inhumane execution of this inconvenient "surplus" wife on orders from "Blind Killer Greer". When "law" is defined as whatever some judge says it is, we're in deep, deep trouble and I wonder whether this will wake Americans up to that fact. Will "We, The People" be able to take this kind of power away from the "Empire of the Judges"? They're not going to go down easily, but what kind of tyranny ever has? Will people fall for that same old crap about how we "can't take the law into our own hands"? We only loan power to these people and, if we've forgotten how to take it back, it's lost forever and we may as well begin calling ourselves "subjects" rather than "citizens".
