I have NEVER been a fan of Jesse Jackson. But when he can get the biased liberal anti-Terri media - to report the words, Terri's starvation is "immoral" and an "injustice," -- as he did today -- then I have to thank him. I just called his office in the Chicago area; told them I have not been a supporter of his, but I thank him for standing up for Terri.

The stupidity of people amazes me. He could care less about Terri - a white girl. Geesh! ALL he wants is alittle face time. He's getting his attention fix through Terri. OTOH, abortion is okay with with him. Go figure!
That didn't come through in the AP article that I read. They quoted him as saying what's happening to Terri is "immoral" and an "injustice." The AP has before been forced to use those words in a story about Terri; but when Jesse says them, the AP can't ignore the words.
Maybe so, but he called her starvation "immoral" -- and the American people need to hear that truth. If the president won't go down and say it, I'll take Jesse Jackson.
That's true also, the focus of the world is here, so Jesse elbows himself in front of the camera.
Terri's husband on the left is represented by the pro-death movement, now on the left again, Terri's parents are represented by the same side with a little statement for her and a BIG push for socialized medicine.
The left and the left by way of relatives monopolize both sides.

Don't you find it odd the left represents Terri's husband for pro-death and now Jessi the massive leftists comes in to make his statement and gets into his socialized medicine spiel?

If anything, Jackson's prepping the Dems for '06 as a champion of life. He's the test subject who's out there with a finger to the right-to-life wind while Hillary and Kerry take note. And I guarantee (and it will come out) that all those contributions people having been making to the Terri-cause have helped to pay for Jesse's flight to Florida and his generous per diem.
People can say that they'd make a pact with the devil to save Terri's life, but if Jackson was really on board with this, he would have shown up long before her tube was pulled. He's there now because he knows that his arrival in this the life-and-death drama will get better play than it would have 2 weeks ago.
I can't believe the FReepers who are falling all over themselves to praise this phoney. BTW, looks like he was hitting the free Mojitos pretty hard last night, didn't he?
Wow.. we are happy and rejoicing that Jesse not only spoke those words.. he is also working the phones with the Florida legislatures ! I wonder if he ran into the folks in Washington yesterday, and his heart was truly moved. So he throws in a couple of extraneous nothings to his regular base. How many of the big evangelical Christian pastors made a trip to Pinellas ? Jesse is there, he is supporting Terri, he is working for her, and .. he even has some clout.
Did you see how wonderful Mary Schindler looked ? And how clear the ideas were for immediate action. -- Terri's life first.
Many religious people, ministers and such made the trip and even camped out there praying praxi.
Where has Jesse been the last few months on this issue?
I took Jesse all this time to notice Terri?
More like he wanted in on the cameras so when he makes his speeches he can do an hour on this topic for 50k a speech.

He hasn't seen Terri at all, and unlike the thousands of unknown pastors praying and working for Terri, the press live the leftist Jesse as a great socialist and race baiter.
I called and did as you suggested. Give credit where credit is due. Maybe people who would otherwise not have paid any attention will sit up and take notice.

Fox only showed snippets of JJ press conference. President Bush was speaking at the same time. He hasn't seen Terri because her owner has a list of who is allowed in. JJ didn't make the cut. I suppose Jeb and Greer didn't make the list either.
It is odd that he is coming out for Terri now but at this point I'd take all the help we can get for her.
Sorry, but I can't imagine a possible world where I would call Jackson's people to thank him for another self-aggrandizing effort designed to keep him in the spotlight. What's going on with you, churchillbuff? What are you thinking?
