Posted on 04/11/2005 2:14:59 PM PDT by mukraker
I would like to ask the many talented and resourceful members of Freeperville to do a little investigating, if we can.
There is an ad running on the cable news channels featuring a man who says he's "a common sense Republicam who knows democracy works best when both sides are heard."
This guy then goes on to tell us about the proposal to exercise the constitutional option in the Senate, and change the rule to allow the ending of a filibuster on judicial nominees with a simple majority vote.
This ad is obviously opposed to the exercise of constitutional power here.
Can anyone find out who this man is, and whether or not he is really a Republican? If so, where is he registered as a Republican?
Sorry about the vanity, but there is such a pool of intelligence and resources here to draw from, I am hoping someone will be able to track this down. Thank you.
He is a goon from the Firefighters Union...the one that supported Kerry.
One of the "checks" of the Executive over the Judiciary is in the fact that the SC judges are selected by the President. A super majority requirement shifts that check more into the hands of the legislature and out of the hands of the President...contrary to the intent of the Founding Fathers...thus upsetting the balance. Something about your posting gave me this epiphany! Thanks!
he is not a rino he is a RAT or troll
I thought I saw that it was paid for by the People for the [un]American Way. Anyone affiliated with that group can't be a real republican.
People register for a particular party for sinister reasons. And I suspect this man is one of those people.
Where is the ad running?
I've seen the ad several times on Fox News Channel. Sorry, I don't watch the others very often. But I've seen it during both the O'Reilly show and the Hannity & Colmes show on FNC.
