Relax and remember it's a TV show, not national policy.

'24' would consistently start strong but lose steam around hour 13 or 14. I didn't even bother with it this season.
The Shield is back, after all! ;-)

yep, very true, but it just seems to make our intelligence agents look like a bunch of dolts. it's my opinion we get enough of that during the evening news.

The most amazing thing is. . . Jacks' cell phone batteries never run out of juice. He must be using the super industrial strength, classified, government batteries. I know mine don't last that long.

Last season was an ordeal: every episode was a challenge to see how much Vic & crew could hustle to stay 1/2 a step ahead of Aceveda, The Aemenian Mob, the Feds, etc.
This season looks more subdued, though they will clearly have to deal with some challenges. Though Aceveda, who I never liked, is just inviting trouble: either he will be busted for patronizing prostitutes (unlikely), or will go too far and injure or kill the hooker he is seeing because he needs to go 'too far' to get a sexual thrill (much more likely).
It would be wild if he had a dead hooker on his hands during his freshman term at the city council, and his only course of action is to turn to Vic to save the day.
I hope Vic screws him! ;-)

and why didn't the helicopter simply shoot the jeeps to pieces while they were sitting still??

i can't help but wonder if that "picture" of aceveda is going to show up in vic's hands somehow.

No kidding - it's in the back of my mind, too. I really want to see Aceveda have a rough time, and if it's problems with the hooker or 'the picture' surfacing, I'll take it!
And man, Shane is scary this season!

That image of aceveda messing with himself watching that rape on video gave me the creeps. also that profiler killing that cat after questioning that rapist/killer last year was chilling. i love this show because you never seem to know what's going to happen next. The black gay cop, what's he going to do?? i think that shane may come back in the fold because vic will probably save him an a$$ kicking this week, that is if his ole lady will stand for it. and you know his ole lady's mother is going to come back for more money.

Shane is a wild card - as Vic said, he would sell them all downriver (particularly with the Money Train adventure) if Internal Affairs catches up with him. He needs to be kept taps on closely!
Aceveda has problems - he was always a jerk but he went off the deep end to screw Vic on his way out. It would be nice to have Vic have a hand in Aceveda hanging. Aceveda's hooker seems like a seasoned pro - not too good looking (few legit hookers look like cover girls) but she is very sexy, fit, and exudes lust. Clearly he wants to play rough - odds are that will get out of control.
Dutch the cat killer is a creepy guy. He promised the Assistant DA he would 'control' Claudette - he barely can control himself. He also has a series of odd clues behind him - he seems unable to have a good relationship with a woman, he was concerned that some 'kiddie porn' pics might be on a PC that was assigned to him and lost briefly ('he was doing some work on it on his own time'), loves to profile deranged crooks, especially sex offenders (and his profiles consistently sound a lot like he is soul searching), and that stuff with the cat was creepy.
A very good, if fairly raw, tv show. It's the only program I have watched faithfully since Babylon 5 ended its run. ;-)

I am comforted by the fact that the producers are making it far-fetched. I do not want too much reality when broadcasting terrorist activities. I believe it's better to make people who would be crazy enough to actually attempt an act of terrorism (read DU lately?) think that "it would be just like they saw on '24'".
No way could it really happen that way, but let the freaks think so...at their own peril.

i confess, i watched the first 3 seasons of 24 with bated breath every week. I thought it certainly was one of the best shows on t.v. but this year has got to be the biggest load of far fetched bull i've seen in my life. Pilots with dishonorable discharges hijacking top secret aircraft to shoot down air force one right around a squadron (probably more like a wing) of fighter escort. The same unknown person ungrounding the aircraft with absolutely no trouble from the officer in charge simply by changing into coveralls and saying it's "okay". A terrorist manages over and over to escape from buildings SURROUNDED by government agents over and over again simply by dropping off a fire escape and running..... Yeah, next thing you know Jack will be dead, and then have his heart re-started and start kicking butt. Or Tony will take a bullet in the neck and be up and around running CTU 3 hours later.
