CNN Sanitizes Blogger Post Calling for Early Death of Benedict XVI
Inside Politics - CNN | governsleast governsbest

Posted on 04/19/2005 1:39:37 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

A few minutes ago, CNN's Inside Politics aired its daily blog segment, and the focus was naturally on reaction to the election of Benedict XVI.

One of the hostettes cited a blog entry from "a gay man in Tennessee," and his entry could be seen on the screen. The hostette read the part in which the man wrote something to the effect "leave it to the Church to find someone to the right of JPII. Can't wait till he starts bashing women, gays, etc."

But the CNN hostette conveniently failed to read the remainder of the man's post, which astute viewers could see on the screen:

"The good news is that Ratzinger is 78 and should die soon."

I would say that this kind of vile sentiment is at least as newsworthy as this man's musings on Benedict's policy positions. Yet CNN chose to suppress it. Gee, I wonder why?

That poster may indeed hope that Benedict XVI dies soon, but you can't infer that. Perhaps he's hoping Benedict will retire shortly. And yes, I know that's an explanation that would fly only amongst the lawyer crowd.

Those DUmmies are depraved. Some were even silly enough to accuse him of being a "neocon." At least one DUmmy was bright enough to point out that that was inaccurate.

Geez...that's nothing...one of the DUmmies said "Maybe we'll get lucky he will "die in his sleep" like our 33 day "Progressive Pope" John Paul 1st, did." They are all foaming at the mouth and vowing to leave the church. One even blamed Karl Rove for the selection, LOL!

They're just mad because Hairy Reed can't filibuster this guy!

Of course I disagree. Everyone knows that the only way his papacy would be short is if he died. That is clearly what the poster meant.

If some of those individuals are in my parish, or diocese, I would suggest they find a church that would adapt more readily to their lack of faith and desire to violate St. John the Divine's warning at the end of Revelation to not change or alter the Word of God.

Church of Satan, maybe? Calling Anton LaVey!

I told a lefty today, after he bitched about my new Pope, "this isn't a club, nor is it a political party. It's a religion, it's dedicated to the word of God, and the absolute truth in those words. If you don't like those words you don't have to live by them, but I chose to. So, don't convert to Catholicism, but leave us Catholics alone to worship God in our own way". This is proof that the left wants to control religion for the masses. They are despicable!

gay, lesbian, environmental terrorists, all are accepted by the liberal media. Killers of abortionist doctors are accepted by the conservative media. It would be nice to have news people with no AGENDA!

The headline is misleading. The article simply states that the new Pope is an old guy, and will probably not live long, it does not "call" for his death.

Pah. Sensationalism.

Ya know guys, I'm not a Catholic, but this whole thing sickens me. It doesn't surprise me, but still sickens me.

I say, they're not even Catholics to begin with if they're saying things like that.

I bet it is, and he has a good command of English too.
I'm positively thrilled with his election, and I have
promised myself to pray for him every night. I had hoped
to be able to love our new Pope, and of course now I already do!

LONG LIVE POPE BENEDICT XVI

Peace be with you Bombardier.

You're much too nice to show that joker the end of the ass he'd never otherwise have gotten to see.

Me too.
In fact, he's already in my heart.
I so wanted his election.
This is a most memorable and joy filled day.
