What does this have to do with the promotion of conservative viewpoints? Well, nothing I suppose. However, for those of us born in the late 1960s (as myself) the news that this iconic zenith of Saturday morning programming is being made into a feature film starring Ferrell must bring mixed emotions.
I remember watching the show as a child. I *LIVED* for this show! I thought the special effects were State of the Art! I can still sing the theme song.
Who am I kidding? Yeah, I'll probably see it.

Well we know from Jay and Silent Bob that he can play all three main characters, should make the production cheaper.

One of my favorite shows as a kid. You can order the entire series on DVD now. I actually watched a couple of episodes on video a few years ago. The special effects weren't quite as state-of-the-art as I remember them.

Xer Ping Ping list for the discussion of the politics and social (and sometimes nostalgic) aspects that directly effects Generation Reagan / Generation-X (Those born from 1965-1981) including all the spending previous generations (i.e. The Baby Boomers) are doing that Gen-X and Y will end up paying for.

The special effects weren't quite as state-of-the-art as I remember them. I watched a few episodes a few years ago while visiting the Museum of Television in NYC. It didn't quite hold up, but the Sleestaks were still scary.

funny, I'm a little older, watched every episode, I think, and thought it might be the nadir, not the zenith....
I've even watched it in syndicated reruns...what is it that keeps me watching?
Don't know if I'll see the film....it won't have that same ability to obsess me, I suspect....

Dear me - the folks who produced that show must have been wasted.

Great - ferrell can bring his one character type to the land of the lost. "Clueless and obnoxious moron" meets the sleestacks.

Dear me - the folks who produced that show must have been wasted. Of that I have no doubt. To be fresh out of film school and get a job working for Krofft productions on Saturday morning programming in the early 1970s. . .Well, one can still smell the bong-hits and taste the 'shrooms!

You got that right, I can't stand the man. I loved Land of the Lost when I was a kid also and would have liked to see this but I won't bother. I'll just be aggravated the whole time seeing that idiot.

If you think they were wasted when they made "Land of the Lost", they're the same guys that did H. R. Pufnstuf. I watched the Bugaloos just to see Joy.
