Can you please tell me what the joke was? I've been out of the loop since my family has had the crud this week. All I know is that everyone's upset at Laura Bush about telling a joke about a horse.....
Laura did a "roast" at this dinner and made some pretty harmless jokes at Dubya's expense.
The one that has people frothing at the mouth had to do with Dubya mistaking a horse for a cow and trying to milk it.
The punchline was, "It was a male horse".
(it's a REALLY old joke)
People have taken this and run with it and turned the whole thing into a tempest in a teapot.
Not even a little bit!

I'm with you. I think the lady caller was a little over the top with the way she characterized it but, I thought Rush, who I love blew off the criticism too blithely. Laura Bush is a classy lady and can do a lot better. I agree with Rush's critique of how the MSM is going nuts about it. What bugged me was, no matter how you cut it, when you describe the president milking a male horse, the idea is he's got his hands on the horse's privates and its just ugly and crass.
Haven't read the thread but Michelle Malkin didn't like the joke either. I'll bet even the President was surprised when she came out with that one.
You are being way too literal about a JOKE. It never happened. You can imagine most anything. You can even imagine someone looking for what to milk and giving up because they can't find anything, before they put hands on the horse's "private parts". Or you can imagine them at least quickly realizing their mistake and letting go. Unfortunately we have FReepers imagining she was saying he was going around doing this all the time, and to the extent that they made a sexual act out of it. I am sorry but they are much worse than Laura ever dreamed of being, yet they dare to act all offended and holier than thou.
